「Blood stained on the bed sheets! When I requested to change the bed sheets, the staff told me that its their policy to change every 3 days!!」

「Staff were lovely. It has been a beautiful house in its day a little tired in places. Nicely decorated with fairly spacious bedroom room and bathroom. Clean throughout and room service cleaned and replaced tea and coffee daily. Warm and comfortable suited us well for exploring Wiltshire 」

「Our stay at the Jack Russell was very enjoyable. The service was excellent and the food was very good. The bedroom was very comfortable with a lovely view. However, the lighting was very subdued which is relaxing but it would have been useful to have more efficient reading lamps. The breakfast bar was good but it would have been nice to have a selection of nuts and seeds and full fat natural yoghurt. 」

「Great location, free parking and easy walk up to the small town centre and surrounding countryside. Staff were very helpful. Nice old property but a little dull sometimes and lacked character. Clean though. There were issues with water pressure, effecting showers etc. this was explained on arrival, so was not a surprise. Breakfast was unexciting and just ‘okay’ with overcooked scrambled eggs, dry bacon and a pot of beans that was more juice than beans. A comfortable stay despite the quibbles.」

「Parking was an issue in Devizes but we had a good tip from the proprietor The room was wonderful - great breeker - shame no bar/ restaurant but the hotel for a local Italian which was superb was spot on 」

「Stairs to the rooms were quite steep but the room was great. Comfortable bed and lovely to have fresh milk and homemade cookies. Unfortunately the shower could do with some attention as water was really slow to run away.Good selection at breakfast, staff were friendly and very accommodating. Could do with either cleaning or replacing the carpet on stairs and landing as it’s very stained and does them no favours in terms of appearance. Overall great stay and would recommend.」

「This was a great place to stay for an overnight stop. Really great value. Bathroom was clean and functional. Beds were comfy, although a little rickety. Breakfast was basic, but decent. The staff were really lovely. The whole place could do with a bit of TLC, but for the price, it was very good.」

「The shepherds hut I stayed in for one night was so warm and cosy, it was like staying in a giant wendy house. I would have liked face to face contact with the host, but I guess thats a "sign of the times" Beautiful view of the countryside. 」
