Overall, the property lived up to what was portrayed online as a downtown location that is convenient for walking to the downtown area of Traverse City.
As advertised, there was no private parking available and public parking was our only option, which was for the most part reasonably priced. The view, again as advertised, was of buildings, alleys, and streets and if starring down Park Street you could see the bay.
We did have a couple of problems and they were with the refrigerator and the ceiling fan in the master bedroom. The refrigerator worked, but the cold filtered water and ice maker did not work for whatever reason. The property manager did offer to bring us some ice and to have someone look at the refrigerator, but we ended up not taking her up on the offer because we were on the go all weekend and it would have required us to change our plans and wait around for someone to show up. The weekend is short, and we did not want to waste our valuable time waiting for someone to show up and fix something that should have worked in the first place. In addition, the ceiling fan in the master bedroom, although working was non-functional, because the remote that controlled it went missing and the replacement had not shown up yet. The property manager did offer to bring us a fan for use, but there was already one in the unit from the previous occupants I am assuming.
As a result of the non-working chilled water and ice maker in the refrigerator, which I have a video of and the ceiling fan, I requested that we get compensated by offering up some sort of credit on the overall bill. The property manager stated that she would check into it for us and when she finally got back to us, after several reminders the management company declined to do anything for us. The reason given as to why they would not compensate us, was that we declined them an opportunity to fix the issues, and that is true. The problem with the management companies’ response is that I stated that I did not want anyone in the location if we were not there, as we had our computers, other personal electronics, and other belongings out. As stated above the weekend is short and we were not going to change our plans to get the refrigerator looked at, as that would require us to be at the location waiting rather than doing what we wanted. The fix may have been easily remedied, but for the amount of money paid per night for this location, everything should be working properly
