We turned it on ourselves, told staff to push our appointment back to the next half hour block. “This lodging is a hidden gem away from Poas but close enough to get to the crater within 20 minutes. The views from the dining area were spectacular. The owner, Cindy, communicated clearly and often. She provided excellent directions to the property which is located high up on a hill in a residential area. The bedding was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend Serenity Ecolodge for a stay near Poas Volcano. I have nothing but good things to say about the……

“I did not use parking. The neighborhood did not feel safe, so I did not go anywhere.”

“Margarita greeted us warmly and showed us our room. The resort has seen better days especially the pool area. The bed was comfy with nice linen but the kitchen needed a good clean. Luckily we didn’t need to use it. A breakfast was offered with various options. This is fine for a brief overnight stay. ”

Bed mattress was almost rock hard and made sleeping uncomfortable, Shower control handles were difficult to operate and water pressure and hot water changed constantly during shower time. We were not able to stay for free breakfast, but coffee was available:wrapped muffin was soft and and almost tasteless. ”

“Staff met you at the front, Spanish-speaking only but super nice. The room was fantastic when we stayed. It was a little bit colder so there was a space heater. There’s a menu in the room for options for meals. We didn’t partake in any of this, but it was great to know that we had a food available if needed. The only downside was the lack of hot water in the shower. We only stayed for one night so it really didn’t bother us that much but if we were saying multiple nights that would’ve been an……

“Adriana, the property owner, was very welcoming. She covered all the logistics clearly and she also arranged for our shuttle to the airport which was very helpful. The room was basic but very comfortable. Our only issue was finding it as Costa Rica does not have street addresses. There was a map and description so we got close but needed help. Our taxi driver was able to phone Adriana for assistsnce.”
