Relaxing Getaway
Perfect space for a relaxing weekend or overnight business trip. Communication with the owner was excellent and check in/check out was a breeze. Will definitely stay again.

Cute place
Very cute place. The owners did a great job decorating and outfitting the rooms. It is very off the beaten path but the directions were good. It does not have a fully equipped kitchen - microwave but no over or range - which was okay with us but could surprise renters expecting to prepare food.

This was the perfect space to relax and unwind after a day of showing. The space was clean and the decor was adorable. The bed was so comfortable with the space being quiet and dark. This made for an amazing night's sleep.The hosts were kind and I enjoyed getting to meet them.

Perfect
We had such a great time staying at the Lap of Luxury - the space was beautiful! The interiors were carefully and thoughtfully curated. The owners were very accommodating, and we enjoyed briefly meeting them as well. Would recommend 10/10!

Beautiful and comfortable apartment
The Forest Door is a cozy and comfortable apartment that’s also beautifully decorated. The location was perfect for a family Christmas in Tryon. Surrounded by woods, it’s a calm and quiet setting yet close to parks, restaurants and activities. Monica is a wonderful hostess; she checks in regularly to make sure you have everything you need. Highly recommend!

Cozy Forest retreat!
Absolutely perfect, cozy and inviting. This property was everything and more. Exceptionally clean, well stocked with anything you might need. The host was informative and available. The decor was beautiful, looks like pages in a magazine. Will definitely be visiting again when in the area. Close to so much.

A Magical Place
My husband and I really enjoyed our one-night visit there. Monica and Roger are fantastic! Monica kept us informed about a bridge collapsed near her property and gave us specific instructions so we could arrive safely using an alternate route. The place is charming, quiet and beautiful! The bed is super comfortable. I had an uninterrupted sleep for 8 hours, which is very rare. We will definitely return when we are in the area.

Little peace of Heaven
Stayed for a weekend with my sister. Very peaceful place and host has paid every attention to detail! I slept in the bed and sis slept on futon. Both were very comfortable. Beautiful countryside!

Enjoyable, comfortable place.
My fiancé and I spent four nights. We noticed the cozy feel as soon as you walk in. For two people. Its all you need. It is far enough out of town that you feel secluded. But it is just a few minutes from Tryon and Columbus. Monica and her husband were very nice hosts. We will be staying there again.

Anniversary stay in the mountains
Anniversary stay in the mountains. My husband and I needed a place to spend an anniversary reasonably close to the red horse Inn in Landrum where we were listening to music from our favorite band. This was about 20 minutes away which was as close as we could get for a place that would allow a one night stay. And we were very grateful! Easy to find very quaint private perfect for one night. They recommended Café LeGall for breakfast the next day and was absolutely spot on! Thank you again!

Relaxing Stay - Great Property
The Forest Door is an unbelievable quaint, secure, clean property. It was supplied with everything you needed and having separate areas (kitchen, living, bedroom) was much nicer than staying in traditional B&B. Only regret was not having time to walk around and enjoy the property. The Owner, Monica, was very prompt with responding to any questions I had. Hope to stay here again. Nadja

OMG!!! Never been to the area and it was a last minute decision. I really didn't have time to look into the details. Seriously was just looking for a bed and a potty. So, I was beyond pleasantly surprised! It was more than beautiful, all of it. I really didn't want to leave!!! I was born in Colorado Springs and raised in Alaska. This place and these mountains were more than dreamy! Zero complaints! Will be back. Just wish it could accommodate my teenagers too. So we could all enjoy next time. But perfect for a couples getaway!!

Peaceful retreat
This is a perfect place to stay. As a woman travelling alone and staying for over a week it was important that I have a place where I felt safe and not isolated. The apartment is spotlessly clean, quiet, and beautifully appointed. I felt much safer knowing the owner was in the house above me, although I never heard a sound. There's also a nice walking trail at the end of the road that hooks up to the town trail around Harmon field.

I had a very positive experience! The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating, the apartment is so charming and decorated with such flair, creativity, and comfort. The location of the property is tucked in the woods yet is close to downtown Tryon and near restaurants, shopping, gas, etc. The area is beautiful with views all around of the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This was my first VRBO experience. I’m a huge fan and would love to stay there again.

Exquisite property - one of the best, if not the best, rentals that my wife and I have ever experienced. 5 stars! The owner was very attentive and gave great recommendations for dining in the area. Everything about the Forest Door is great-clean, new, comfortable bed, great bath/shower. The apartment is secluded from the main house and offers complete privacy. It's located near the top of about a 1/2 mile journey up a beautiful unpaved road that in itself is part of the experience. Can't wait to return!

Both hosts were very welcoming and provided more than I could need. The apartment was extremely clean and 15 minutes to TIEC. It was nice to stay off the show grounds and be surrounded by trees that provided a sense of calm. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends.

Outstanding accommodations! Great hosts!
Spent the week in Tryon for a relaxing cycling trip. The accommodations were just perfect. Very clean, cozy, and quiet and located near everything including a short scenic walk to Harmon Field. The hosts are very gracious and so helpful with all aspects of my trip including cycling routes and restaurant recommendations. Just an outstanding stay!

Heaven in the forest
Staying at the Forest Door was pure sanctuary and delight. The owner has provided for any need one might have, the property was beyond my expectations, and refreshments were even provided. The peaceful serenity of the forest surrounds the property, birdsong bringing the calming cushion of nature. The pristine elegance of this very special experience was enhanced by the sophisticated yet organic decor. The location is extremely convenient to both Tryon and Columbus, also with easy access to the freeway. I would definitely stay here again and eagerly look forward to the opportunity to return!

A Dreamy Gem
Monica and Roger’s property was everything I had hoped for and more! It is a secluded and dreamy little gem that allowed me to refresh from the restrictions of the pandemic and enjoy some time visiting my elderly mom who lives close by. It is beautifully appointed, located in a tranquil, forested setting and literally had everything I could need. Wish I could have stayed for a month!! The hosts were super responsive, friendly, and helpful. I will be back!

Awesome stay!!
My husband and I stayed here for a week. Everything was immaculate! Very quaint! Loved it! Beautiful flowering Bush right outside the door that led to a nice trail for an early morning hike. Would definately stay here again!! Monica and her husband are very nice and accommendating!

The Forest Cottage guesthouse
My daughter and I stayed at the Forest Cottage guesthouse for a short weekend girls getaway. We don’t get to see each other often as I am on the west coast and she on the east. This was a gem of a find! The guesthouse is just lovely!! Very comfortable, very clean, very private. We even came back early the second night just to enjoy hanging out there. Would certainly stay here again and definitely give it high marks! Monica was fantastic to communicate with and did a wonderful job on the decor. So glad we had the chance to meet! Thanks for creating such a warm, relaxing space to stay at!

Relaxing Mountain Retreat
