Wonderful medieval experience!

I have no idea how you take a medieval town wall and update it to current amenities, but it has been done beautifully in this apartment! Turkheim is a treasure and so authentic. So very glad we had the opportunity to stay here as a part of our Christmas Markets epic trip!

Die Bilder im Internet waren sehr schön und vielversprechend, aber tatsächlich war es noch viel schöner und gemütlicher als erwartet. Alles sehr sauber, neu, modern und mit viel Geschmack und Gespür für das alte Gemäuer eingerichtet. Wir waren begeistert und würden sofort wieder hier Urlaub machen wollen. M Neff hat uns außerordentlich freundlich empfangen und uns sehr gute Tipps gegeben. Ein kleines Paradies!

Stilvolle Unterkunft in historischem Gemäuer

Das Quartier liegt in einem historischen Gemäuer der Altstadt von Turckheim, man ist also mittendrin im "romantischen Elsaß". Bad und Küche sind ganz modern, passen aber stilvoll zum historischen Ambiente. Man sollte wissen, dass eine richtige Wendeltreppe Wohn- und Schlafbereich verbindet! Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit und sprechen prima Deutsch. Wir haben hier eine wunderbare Woche verbracht!

Great location full of history, beauty and mountain ranges.

The apartment is spacious set on 2 floors in a most historic building right beside the Munster Gates, one of the three that leads you into the cobbled stone, flowered, ancient village. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen equipped, the bathrooms clean, and the quality high. The location allows for strolls in the village or just as easily out into the vineyards or hiking trails in the mountains. The towns of Colmar and Munster are but 15 minutes away for all amenities. The river that runs alongside the village has access that was terrific for myself and my two large dogs. There are historical reenactments at night in Turckheim that could be perceived as noisy, and the area of the rental is at a busy intersection. To be expected! Also, the owner, Greg, was available, helpful and friendly. To be expected. Enjoy!

Like Vacationing in a Fairytale

From the moment we parked our car and walked the few short meters to the front door of Gite Winstub in Turckheim, we were met with something out of a storybook. The entrance to the property was so unique, not a single person seemed capable of walking past without admiring its old world charm and beauty. The word "old" is truly misleading here, however, because though the property is reportedly over 500 years old, it has been renovated both inside and out to provide the vacationer with an experience that is both medieval and modern. Gite Winstub is nothing short of enchanting! Also, the village itself brags many cafés, shops, and even a small local grocery store. And the fact that all of this charm is hemmed in by beautiful and impressive vineyards makes Turckheim a fabulous place for people of all ages. I absolutely struck gold when I found Gite Winstub on the VRBO website. The host, Gregory Neff, must be an artist to create something so functional, beautiful, and imaginative!

Idéal !

Très beau gîte authentique avec une décoration soignée, tout est neuf, la situation est idéale au centre ville de Turckheim, dans le rempart lui même jouxtant la porte de Munster, proche des commerces/restaurants mais suffisamment éloigné pour être en toute quiétude. D'ailleurs l'insonorisation est parfaite donc calme garanti. Le propriétaire était aux petits soins et nous indiquait tout ce qu'il y avait à voir et surtout les bonnes adresses. Convient parfaitement à 3 enfants + 2 adultes car une chambre est assez grande pour accueillir 3 lits simples, machine à laver/séchante bien pratique pour les familles (on n'a pas à faire x machines en rentrant chez soi...) comme le réfrigérateur qui est de bonne taille (trop souvent sous dimensionné). Rangements en quantité pour vider vos valises, cuisine bien équipée, grande TV plate, Wifi offert. 2 WC et une grande SdB. Un escalier d'époque donc avec marches inégales (attention si enfants trop petits, nous n'avons pas eu de souci (> 8 ans pour la plus jeune). Le RDC est dans une ancienne cave à moitié sous la rue donc peut manquer un peu de luminosité ce qui est finalement peu important car on passe son temps dehors à visiter la région, tout étant refait à neuf l'éclairage est suffisamment bien pensé pour palier à ce souci. Le propriétaire a rénové 2 autres gites ouverts depuis peu dans les deux autres étages, les 3 gîtes peuvent accueillir 10- 12 pers, pratique pour les grandes familles tout en conservant son indépendance... Région a visiter absolument pour sa gastronomie, ses villages typiques (dont Turckheim) et pour les jeunes ne pas rater EuropaPark (Disneyland x 2 à 3 en taille, pour moins cher et aussi beau, en mangeant mieux, éviter Août si possible: files d'attente >> juillet) ! Nous on espère y retourner...
