Great Stay in Twain Harte!

Had a wonderful two-night stay at the B&B. Provided such a warm welcome on our arrival and the lovely hospitality continued throughout our stay. Rooms were very comfortable and the common spaces outstanding - especially the expansive outdoor balcony. Breakfast was super tasty and filling.

The location was beautiful and we look forward to seeing it in the summer when it's not under 3 feet of snow! The breakfast was delicious and the owners were friendly. It was nice to have our dog with us too.

The place is great and the host Stephanie was warm, loving, and very helpful. The breakfast was tastefully prepared and the bed and breakfast is an absolute gem and we would stay here again. Stephanie helped us plan our activities for the day and made us feel very comfortable and welcomed at her place. they have guests who have been coming there for years!

The McCaffrey House is filled with character and warmth. Our host Stephanie and Michael were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Our room had an unobstructed view of the beautiful forest surrounding the house. Stephanie makes delicious breakfast. It's. A perfect getaway to relax, or explore.

My family and I had an amazing experience here over the weekend. We have tried their in-house breakfast, to go breakfast on the day we skied and their dinner. My kids loved the board games, we loved the wine evenings they so graciously extended before dinner and the entire family appreciated the two dogs on the property. We will absolutely come back! My only slight complaint would be that due to how the house was build one can hear everything upstairs (our room was downstairs) and so we had to wake up quite early even on the day we were not skiing due to the noise. I believe that smaller rooms are upstairs where it might be more quiet. The hosts are lovely and the location is in the middle of nowhere so there is a lot of privacy. It took us about 30 minutes to get to Dodge Ridge for skiing - for reference. I also need to mention that we forgot some articles of clothing at the property and the host offered to mail it back to us. She called and emailed and was incredibly gracious. We will for sure come back!

Fantastic B&B

Fantastic property. Friendly and helpful service. Delicious breakfast. Only (small) complaint is the bed in our room was a bit “lumpy” and my husband felt like he was sliding off at night. We will be back! We enjoyed our stay very much.

Highly recommend if you have no issues with stairs

Our stay was just lovely and it would have been perfect except the property has so many stairs. We are 76 and 78 and lugging our belongings up and down stairs (particularly outside) was difficult. But if that is not an issue for you it is a wonderful inn, even during the time of Covid. It is clean, safe, and very comfortable. And the breakfast's are 5 star!

Get Away in the Mountains

Stephanie McCaffrey and team were excellent hosts! A beautiful spot in the Sierras, easy to find and convenient but feels secluded and tucked away. Just a few minutes from Twain Harte, a really cute little mountain village.

Disappointing

The staff was friendly, the breakfast was fabulous and the Blue Room was lovely and as pictured. However, the B n B is across from the highway and the loud traffic noise was annoying, especially when we sat on the deck or balcony. The queen size bed was comfortable, but too small for us. We had a hard time sleeping because the room was very light at night, due to the exterior lighting on the grounds. We were also disappointed that there is a fence around the property, so we couldn't go for a walk in the woods.
