Quiet time in the desert

As a repeat customer, I can tell you this is the perfect little spot to get away from it all, and have some peace and quiet in the desert. Absolutely wonderful hosts!

Lovely Stay

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful spot. Highly recommend if you want a lovely and relaxing place to come home to after a day of exploring Joshua Tree. The views at night are gorgeous. I would definitely recommend staying in this peaceful spot. Thank you so much for everything!

This place is everything it promises to be. I'm so happy we picked it for our Joshua Tree Park adventure. If I ever find myself in the desert again, I'd stay here in a minute! 😍

Joshua Tree Getaway

We really enjoyed the serenity of our stay as we lounged in chairs watching the sunset and soaked in the hot tub under the stars. The house was clean and comfortable and was a wonderful place to unwind after long days of hiking in JTNP and sight seeing the unique art exhibits within minutes of this lovely home. We were able to take a short day trip out to Ladder Canyon, the Salton Sea Rec Area, Bombay Beach, and Salvation Mountain. We'd love to return here again in the future and continue exploring all that this beautiful desert area has to offer!

Cozy stay

We traveled with our two teenagers in early March 2023. Kathryn was always available and responded right away when we had a little trouble unlocking the door when we arrived. It was cold and snowing during our stay but we stayed in and it was comfy and cozy - we had the fire going and played games. It's very quiet and the space was perfect for us for a few days. Thanks for being such great hosts!

Family fun and music at the sunset road house

The house has everything to relax and be inspired, all commodities in the middle of the desert, hot tub and above ground pool were amazing. We did what the owners reccomended to bring groceries, so we did not waste anytime. We were able to see the most beautiful sunsets, full harvest moon, and sunrises. It was an amazing experience, definitly we have to come back!

The property was a slice of heaven! As my husband and I were celebrating an anniversary we wanted to truly get away from the city and reconnect. We found exactly what we needed here on Sunset Road. Everything about this home makes you relax and feel at home, we loved watching the sunrise from our bedroom window, gazing at the stars at night. Everything on the property inside and out was perfect, we didn’t find ourselves missing anything, all was provided. Our pug loved the home as well, they provided us with blankets, bowls, toys, leash, baggies and a towel for our fur baby. Loved not only the place but the great communication the owners continuously had with us, they answered any questions we had and gave us great recommendations for yummy food, plus I completely I agree with them when they told us “bring some groceries with you because you won’t want to leave once you get there.” We love the desert, and Sunset Road completely elevated our experience! Definitely we will be returning next year for our 18th anniversary, but will be staying longer.

Can’t wait to go back

Living in CA in this economy we share our home with our 4 adult children and grandbaby and let me say this was a much needed get away. It was secluded, quiet and beautiful. Exactly what this overworked and overstimulated gen x couple needed. We drove through Joshua Tree national park during the day and enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi at night. 10/10 and can’t wait to go back.

Wonderful stay!

We spent an amazing 4 days and 3 nights at the house near Joshua Tree. Clean, comfortable and inviting. Owners responded quickly with any questions we had. Beautiful area to watch the stars at night and about 30 minutes or so to the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. All the amenities were there as advertised.

We had a perfect stay at Sunset Road. The house was perfect size for us, great amenities, close to JTNP and had everything we could have needed. We will definitely be staying here again when in the area.

Perfect Desert Escape

Was looking for a place that was super remote but with all of the comforts of home. This place hit just right. Check in process was easy, everything we could need was available (robes were super cozy and perfect to put on after a soak in the spa). Visited the area for a long weekend escape for my husbands birthday and enjoyed every second. Woke up to an amazing sunrise on both mornings. Wish I could have stayed more than 2 days, but I will be back. Thank you!!

Gorgeous getaway

As i was driving into this beautiful home I felt like i had made a mistake, but wow was i so wrong! My friends & i were welcomed by this beautiful, peaceful, welcoming home. I dont think the pictures do this place justice! It truly feels like you are able to disconnect from the city and have all the conforts of the city life.

Fantastic stay

Nestled in a secluded corner of the Joshua Tree desert, this enchanting home embraced us with warmth and tranquility from the moment we arrived. The property boasts a stunning cactus garden that perfectly complements the serene desert landscape. During the day, we cooled off in the refreshing pool, and as the sun set, the hot tub provided a cozy retreat under the starry sky. The interior of the house is bright, spacious, and thoughtfully decorated with unique, stylish touches. Every detail has been considered, and the home is equipped with everything you could possibly need for a perfect getaway. Despite the remote location, a large grocery store is conveniently just 20 minutes away. Our stay here was nothing short of magical—both rejuvenating for the body and soothing for the soul. The stargazing experience was truly extraordinary, and we were able to capture breathtaking photos of the Milky Way. We can’t recommend this oasis enough and can’t wait to return.

Joshua tree get away.

This vacation rental in Joshua Tree was fantastic! It offered plenty of activities and was perfectly located near the park. The check-in process was seamless, and the sunset views were breathtaking. The hot tub and pool were perfect for the weather during our stay. Highly recommend!

Great Escape in the Desert

It was wonderful to escape the rush of daily life in this peaceful, quiet, and lovely VRBO. All you could see were the mountains in the distance and all you could hear were the sound of birds. Our batteries were recharged. Kathryn and Jon were lovely hosts and answered all our questions quickly. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Joshua Tree next.

So relaxing!

My husband and I wanted to find a nice quiet place to unwind for a night, kid free. I messaged the owner with a question and she promptly replied. By the end of the day, I knew I wanted to book here! The place was in the middle of no where which we loved, so much privacy! Easy to find and check in was so quick and easy. The place was clean, cooled and ready for us. We especially loved the Hot tub at sunset. We also were left a complimentary s’mores kit which was so thoughtful. Everything was as described and we really enjoyed our night there. We would definitely book again!
