This house in Tybee, while a perfect location and beautiful inside is out, is completely false advertising when it states that it is handicap accessible. My family and I came in from all across the country, including my father who is paralyzed and is in a wheelchair fulltime. We chose this house because of the listing that highlights the accessibility, "wide doorways, walk in shower, and wheelchair lift."When we arrived the wheelchair lift was not working. While that was fixed by the property owners, there were multiple concrete curbs to and from the wheelchair lift and the parking lot (which is all gravel). This made it near impossible for my father to get in and out of the house without one or two people assisting him. On the main floor, the two bathrooms have showers but not one is a walk in shower. In fact, both showers have four to five inch curb, again making it impossible for someone in a wheelchair or handicap, to access without assistance. When these issues were brought to the attention of the property manager, he acted to the best of his ability but of course was not able to rectify the situation. We reached out to the management company, after our stay, describing in great detail our stay and asking for a partial reimbursement. We did not hear back.We hope that this property makes the proper changes that are needed to be able to meet the needs of individuals who are handicap. But for out visit, last month, that was not the case.
