And also said we only paid 30 USD, why expect an air condition...

Trevligt glamping-boende.
Trevlig glamping-resort, nära till Udawalele nationalpark vilket var stora anledningen till mitt besök. Maten var okej, lite dyr buffé på kvällen sett till vad som serverades. Lyckades inte lösa så jag kunde dela safari-tripp med andra sällskap och ja tror ärligt att de inte försökte, ju fler bilar desto mer pengar in. Annars fick jag god hjälp med att lösa bussresa vidare till Ella.

Superbe établissement avec cabanes, nous avons l’impression de dormir dans un cocon. La piscine et les jardins sont très bien entretenus. Il y a des ouvertures un peu partout au niveau de la cabane ce qui fait que si l’on garde la lumière allumée la nuit des insectes peuvent entrer, la moustiquaire nous a sauvé nous nous sommes retrouvés en plein milieu de la nuit avec un énorme scarabée dans la chambre Repas parfait et petit-déjeuner très complet ! Avec beaucoup de choix selon nos envies sucré / salé ! Top !

The staff made me feel welcome and safe from the moment I arrived. They organised for me to share a morning safari with another couple who were staying there - this way we all saved money and it’s better for the environment. I really appreciated this! Our guide for the Safari “Parera” was fantastic! He made sure we were the second Jeep in the park, and drive quickly but safely and professionally. He knew many species of animal and always stopped for everything. He could spot a gecko on a tree ten metres away! When we reached the end of our safari we found a mother and baby elephant having a mud bath. It was so beautiful and we watched for so long even though we went over time - Parera called the hotel and made sure they waited for us to return so we could have breakfast and watch the elephants for longer. Thank you so much Parera!

Très bon rapport qualité/prix
Très bel endroit, la chambre donnant directement sur la piscine était superbe et le staff est super. La nourriture du restaurant était très moyenne par contre, mais vu qu’en nous y avons passé une seule nuit cela convenait (de toute façon avons pas d’autre option car le « village » d’Uda Walawe n’est pas trop accessible à pied et de toute façon il n’y a pas grand chose...). La chambre était très charmante, petit bemol pour la salle de bain exterieure : jolie, mais dans un univers très « végétal » comme celui de l’hôtel c’est vite envahi d’insectes... À part ce détail, tout était super !

Das Hotel ist sehr schön gelegen und insbesondere die Poolvillen sind idyllisch um einen tollen Pool gelegen. Verpflegung (Buffet) war sehr gut, ausnahmslos alle Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich. Die Safari (über das Hotel gebucht) war die beste (wir haben drei in drei verschiedenen Parks gemacht) und Udawalawe gleicht einem Garten Eden. Abstriche muss man im Hotel bei der Sauberkeit machen, nicht alles war in tadellosem Zustand: Scheiben der Bungalows zum Teil zerbrochen, viele Spinnweben überall, angeschmuddelte Sitze vor den Poolvillen. Bett und Bad waren aber sehr sauber und die AC funktionierte bestens, daher insgesamt eine klare Empfehlung für eine oder zwei Nächte.

Tolle Lage, insbesondere der Poolvillen, und sehr schöner, idyllischer Poolbereich. Restaurant mit reichlich Auswahl und alles war lecker. Die angebotene Safari war preislich gut und die Durchführung super. Udawalawe ist wie ein Garten Eden und hat uns besser gefallen als Yala und Wilpattu, denn es gab weniger Jeeps und viel mehr Tiere und sehr schöne Landschaft. Die Poolvillen und die Poolliegen sind zum Teil in schlechterem Zustand, als die Fotos suggerieren: Teils zerbrochene Scheiben (aber noch dicht),Spinnweben, angeschmuddelte Sitze vor den Poolvillen und z.T. schmutzigeLiegen. Bett, Bad und AC waren aber in tadellosem Zustand und auch das Gelände wirkte gepflegt. Insgesamt daher eine klare Empfehlung für ein oder zwei Nächte.

Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. We absolutely loved the outdoor bathroom. The fish massage, pool and gardens make it a very relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and helpful.

They may give your room away!
We booked 2 months in advance and had been in contact with resort in the weeks leading up to our trip. When we arrived, we were told they didn’t have our booked room available as the had double booked it. They offered a tent, which we didn’t want as we had been camping up to this point and wanted closed walls to keep insects out. They weren’t apologetic at all and we found a different place to stay as a result. We wouldn’t book again. Poor customer service. Lack of consideration for plans around travel. And we found out later that they overcharge for safaris. So we are glad we didn’t end up with them.

dear sir/madam many thanks for your feed back. for you we offer same type pool view luxury tent room. in inform it to expedia customer service before inform to you. but they not make any help for you or not inform to you. over booking can happening and that time we have 2 option upgrade another room category in same property or relocate, at least it is our best category room type than you booked. at least you had to look. but you not agree to look. and we arrange vehicle to your next hotel free of charges for 40k.m and we refund your fully payment to you through expedia. we try to do our best but you not accept. but we not charge any amount from you and we gave 40 k.m drive free of charge for you. it is our service. with our stay and with out any payment we not accept your feed back . how ever thanks malee

Basic accommodation set in nice grounds with two decent swimming pools. Go for the poolside rooms if you want to stay here. This property also can organise jeep safaris to the Udawalawe park. Email the hotel to organise this ahead of time, we’ll worth it. Did 6 hour tour with breakfast, guide was excellent. Saw dozens of elephants. Much better than Yala for elephant and other wildlife spotting (did an 8 hr trip to Yala the next day and saw almost nothing as the forest is so dense at times and overcrowded with noisy jeeps)

We booked the deluxe tent, it was amazing! Very clean, spacious, beautiful! View on the pool! Pool was very nice! Breakfast and dinner were very good! Also booked a safari with them, everything was great! Nothing bad to say about our stay!!

Fun experience in the tents!
We only had 1 night here, to do 2 safaris at Udawalawe National Park. Hotel organised us the safaris very easily, around 20 mins drive away from the park but it is fun travelling in the Jeep. We stayed in the permanent tents, which was really fun and added to the safari feel! Tents were fine, have aircon and mosquito nets. Nice pool areas and restaurant was fine for food and beers.

Good idea. Done badly. Tents with aircon and bathroom✅. Ridiculously close to busy road so no sleep. Checkin and restaurant staff all seemed a bit disinterested. Bed sheets with big holes like the dog had been wrestling with them. Just weird. And no real interest in solving our problems. Skip it.

Jungle style villa
We managed to stay in a villa by the pool which was divine. We had a beautiful outdoor bathroom which suits the style of the accomodation. The bed was comfortable and had its own mosquito net. The jungle style room had great air conditioning and felt like a little oasis. The staff was very helpful and assisted us to book tours for the National Park. One bit that could be improved was the wifi.

Mooie accomodatie maar matig personeel
Locatie is erg mooi, groen en ruim opgezet. Heerlijk in de natuur. Wij sliepen in bungalow aan het zwembad maar er zijn ook andere huisjes en tenten. Bungalow was erg ruim en schoon, fijn dat er ook een mosquito werend structuur over het bed was geplaatst. Zwembad is heerlijk. Makkelijk om safari te boeken (welke trouwens erg goed was en ons op mooie plekken in Udawalawe park heeft gebracht). Bushalte voor de deur, met een overstap zit je in een paar uur in Matara of Tangalle. Minpunt is voornamelijk het ongeinteresseerde personeel van de receptie/ checkin tot het restaurant. Kan geen glimlach van af. Erg jammer want dat hoort niet bij zo een mooie plek! Uitzondering was onze jeep bestuurder bij de safari die er wel wat van maakte. Ander punt is wel dat het restaurant en bar snel sluiten en je dus na 22 uur geen biertje meer kan drinken aangezien de minibar leeg is.

Perfekte Ausgangslagen für Safari @ Uda walawe
Nettes Hotel mit kleinem Pool und solidem Abendbuffet. Der Bungalow war geräumig mit Außenbad. Alles sehr einfach aber solide. Hotel organisiert die Safari was sehr gut funktioniert hat mit sehr nettem Fahrer. Frühstück würde mitgegeben und um ca. 9 Uhr bei einer kleinen Pause gebraucht. Empfehlenswert für eine Übernachtung und anschließender Safari.

Originelle Unterkünfte. Die Deluxzelte sind direkt an einer stark befahrenen Strasse. Die Poolvillen sind sehr gross mit einem super grossen, Freiluftbad! Die Anlage ist gepflegt, die Zimmer sind sauber. Das Essen am Buffet ist gut.

Heerlijke plek om bij te komen
Ondanks een rommelig ontvangst (onze luxe tent was nog niet schoon, en een paar andere zaken) was het hier heerlijk vertoeven. Niet voor de gewone tent gaan maar voor de luxe versie of anders een huisje. (Afhankelijk van je budget uiteraard). Mooie ervaring met een echte buitendouche. Goed zwembad en lekker geheten daar. Ontbijt is zeer uitgebreid.

Awesome Experience!
The place was incredible! There's not much to do in Udawalawe, but this resort-like hotel was a very comfortable place to rest! We stayed in the cheaper tents and were impressed by the cleanliness and comfort! The bed was huge, the bathroom clean, and we had more than enough space in the room for the two of us. And despite being a tent, we had no insect issues throughout the evening! Only downside is that our tent rooms did not have WiFi. Fortunately we had our SIM cards and there was slow WiFi in the common areas, but it was a minor inconvenience. Really great place to stay and enjoy a night's rest.

You have been warned
Unfortunately this was by far the worst tent accomodation that we have ever stayed. Every zipper on both the front and back door was broken. The black door had no Velcro only a few straps so we had the pleasure of sharing our tent with lots of mosquitos. Someone tried to sneak into our tent but thankfully we caught them. As there are no zippers there is no security so the best we could do is lock our valuables in our bags as there is also no safe box. On top of that the tent leaked when it was raining. The list goes on and on but one other memorable moment was smelling the other people's bathrooms as each tent is connected to each other and separated only by the tent wall. The food at the restaurant was pretty poor and they tack on a service charge so you have no choice but to tip for below average food and service. At breakfast the food dishes had no covers so there were lots of flies sitting in all of the dishes. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Great for a safari
We stayed here for 2 nights whilst we went on a safari and Udawalawa. We needed 2 rooms because there were 4 of us and the accommodation was great and the kids loved the pool and the outside bathroom. The hotel staff are very friendly and they arranged a special location for dinner because we were celebrating my birthday! The menu is limited but fine for 2 nights. A great experience!

Much more than I expected
Much more than I expected. The tent was amazingly comfortable with a full bed, mosquito netting, and hard-wood floors. The listing is incorrect, though. Don't expect air-con (there is a fan and electricity) and the wifi doesn't reach the room (typical for Sri Lanka). There a tons of monkeys around and you can see them from then tent's back patio. The room was a bit dark, but it is a tent. Main problem is that the tents are connected and you can hear everything from the bathroom, but that was the only drawback. There is nothing nearby but it's a great place to relax. Reception organizes safaris at a good price. The restaurant and breakfast aren't great. The hotel is on the main road between Embilpitiya and Udawalawe so if you're taking the bus ask them to drop you off.

Lovely peaceful resort with a fantastic pool
Very peaceful, lots of bird chatter but can't hear road traffic. We loved the pool and also the privacy of the deluxe tent. Food and drinks were very reasonable as was the price of excursions. The staff at dinner/breakfast do seem to try but they are really very inefficient (island time?!). No wifi in our room and more often than not, none at the restaurant either but this wasactually really conducive to relaxing - not all guests agreed.... We really enjoyed our two nights here and recommend just know it's going to be a slow, chilled place with little connection to the fast life back home!

We really enjoyed staying in Kottawatta Village. Very friendly and good Service. They organisied interesting trips for us ( safari, rain forest, caves, Ella) and took care of us. Bedste hotel i Udawalawa
Vi havde et fantastisk ophold på Kottawata Village. Servicen var i top. Utroligt lækkert mad til meget billige penge. Helt nyt, meget rent. Vi boede i telt og fra terrassen kunne man nyde synet af 50-60 aber hver morgen som skulle fra den ene ende af skoven til den anden. Pool rart efter at have været i Udawalawa National Park. Rigtig god guide/chauffør fra hotellet var med i parken. God beliggenhed også i forhold til Elephant Orphanage. Blev anbefalet at besøge et tempel som ikke står i nogen guidebøger. Vi donerede et beløb og så blev alle døre åbnet til de fantastiske skatte, som ikke er nævnt for at beskytte dem - der må ikke tages fotos. Stor oplevelse. Meget attentive staff. Tror det var det bedste sted at bo og gør det gerne igen.

Maybe it will be nice when it's finished.
My bungalow was lovely, but almost all the others were in varying stages of construction. I couldn't find reception; staff appeared only when I loitered in the restaurant area. Nobody who knew the right WiFi password could be found. The restaurant had no seat cushions, ants in the sugar and some rather frayed wiring in the thatched roof; I'm glad it wasn't raining. The food was average to downright weird ("tandoori" chicken covered in bland tomato-based sauce; chocolate cake with breakfast).

値段が安いことと、ジャングルに泊まってるような雰囲気で楽しそうだと思い、予約しました。本当にジャングルの中のような雰囲気で楽しめました。 でも、シャワーのお湯が出なくて水で入りましたが、私以外はみんなお湯で入れてました。虫はもちろんいます。きになる方は無理かもしれません。金額から総合すると良い施設だったと思います。
