Great relaxing place to escape.

Secret Garden is a lovely,quirky,relaxed place to stay at Unawatuna Beach. The staff are amazing and make you feel totally welcome. You are staying in a beautifully maintained jungle type garden with resident squirrels, various birds and the friendly happy dogs. We would certainly stay again.

Funky and fun. Nice facilities in an area of rustle and bustle. People working there did their utmost to exceed my expectations. Very good price in a popular area of Sri Lanka. I could walk to the gym. I liked the location.

A me è piaciuto tantissimo, atmosfera cordiale, posizione, il giardino era una piccola jungla…con scimmie, varani, scoiattoli ecc ecc, Molto silenzioso..lo raccomando…la colazione era buonissima ma un po’ ripetitiva…comunque sia il mio soggiorno è stato Top!!

L’hotel è gestito dalla signora Simona, una signora svizzera che parla bene l’italiano, è stata molto gentile e disponibile, adesso abbiamo un’amica in più da rivedere al nostro ritorno ad Unawatuna. I ragazzi dello staff sono stati tutti veramente carini simpatici e gentili….insomma ci siamo sentite coccolate…poi il giardino è fantastico …i bungalow sono immersi nella jungla…vacanza fantastica

Virkelig en hemmelig have.

Vi valgte Unawatuna frem for Galle for at komme tættere på stranden. Secret garden ligger i anden række fra stranden med meget nem adgang. Stedet er en fantastisk kombination af en gammel kolonial bygning med omkringliggende have, og moderne srilankansk tilgang til gæster. Vi følte os meget velkomne i et stort hyggeligt værelse med de nødvendige faciliteter. Dejlig morgenmad til fleksible tider.

Unique accommodation in beautiful garden setting

The Secret Garden offers a gorgeous haven of peace and tranquility to escape to from the hot sunshine and humidity of Sri Lanka. Very welcoming, attentive and friendly staff. Beautiful old colonial buildings which were rebuilt following the devastation of the 2004 tsunami. It takes less than a minute to walk to the lovely beach of Unawatuna which has plenty of bars and restaurants. A wide variety of delicious breakfasts available; they will also prepare you a typical and delicious Sri Lankan breakfast if you would like to try one! Friendly dog that will accompany you for a walk round the village! Yoga lessons and massages are on offer in a separate, domed building within the grounds. Plenty of wildlife within the garden's grounds including geckos, humming birds, lizards and a family of shy monkeys within the trees. --

I loved the decor and the outdoor shower which was a real experience... the owner is super friendly, great area. good breakfast. the room was very damp though- with a very loud ceiling fan and not very effective A/C.

Bra läge. Trevlig personlig personal. Mkt kryp.

Ägarinnan mkt trevlig och hjälpsam. Mysig trädgård, lite djungelliknande, vilket tyvärr medförde väldigt mycket mygg. Öppen glugg i badrummet som också gjorde att det blev mkt mygg, spindlar o kackerlackor. Fantastisk yoga i fin miljö, dome i trädgården.

En paradisisk upplevelse!

Fantastiskt område nära Unawatunas bästa del av stranden. Inga stora vågor pga ett rev som mildrade vågorna, inga strömmar. Perfekt om man inte är så van simmare.

Beautiful stay at Secret garden

Secret garden is a fantastic place with lots of athmosphere and beautiful booth the rooms and terraces and of course the garden. Warm and friendly staff you really feel at home. Most recommennded!!

Skønt at bo i en frodig have 50 meter fra stranden

Skønt at have et stort rum og egen veranda. Simpel men funktionel indretning. Overdækket dobbeltbruser i det fri. Haven var frodig og en fornøjelse at gå rundt i og skyggefuld. Med lejlighedsbesøg af vilde aber, vi hørte vilde påfugle, og vi så ofte egern og kæmpe firben. Man krydser vejen og er så på den dejlige strand i Unawatuna med ok snorkling. Morgenmad købte vi ikke der - det kan fås billigere mange andre steder tæt på. Eneste minus var, at man skulle betale med kontanter, hvilket vi ikke fik fortalt på forhånd. Og det var lidt overdrevet at skulle hæve til betaling for 8 dages ophold. Til gengæld kunne vi betale på et nærliggende hotel (eget af indehaverens mand) og benytte deres fantastiske pool højt hævet lige ud til havet.
