Unguja Hotel with Pool

"Some travelers forget they are visiting a foreign country and overlook local conditions, policies, & environment. Many common complaints can be avoided by reading details planning ahead, and communicating clearly. I believe in forming my own experience —and I’m so glad I did. My experience was a 10,000/10. The staff and service were exceptional from start to finish. Everyone was professional, patient, and made me feel comfortable throughout my stay. Juma, the Front Office Manager, arranged my round-trip airport transfer with Emanuel who shared local history along the way. Juma clearly explained my package and handled a small misunderstanding on my end with patience and helpful solutions. Consolata, the receptionist, welcomed me warmly and made me feel at home immediately. I arrived early, and she personally showed me around the property while sharing its history, which I truly appreciated. Ramso, my butler, was outstanding—attentive, calm, and genuinely caring. When I had a room issue (my mistake), he went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, moving me to a room that exceeded expectations. I would absolutely request him again! Chef Mohammed delivered excellent meals from breakfast to dinner. The food was fresh, authentic, healthy, and flavorful, and his passion truly shows. Overall, I loved the scenery, privacy, cleanliness, safety, and peaceful atmosphere. Fruit & Spice is perfect for relaxation and exceptional service. I highly recommend this resort. — LissaKayy "

"I stayed for three nights as a solo traveler in one of the garden suites. Overall, I think this is an excellent resort that is affordable, clean, with a gorgeous beach very friendly staff I did not do full board but was able to order off the lunch menu for dinner and overall the food was good. I saw snakes, huge centipedes, lots of different species of fish, hermit crabs bush babies, and other types of lizards. I think this would be really cool if your child is into animals. If you’re interested in snorkeling, bring your own mask. There is only one at the resort and it’s quite scratched up. Also- bring sunscreen as it’s $50USD at the resort. Also, the beach is not really accessible if you’re handicapped because the one stair to the ocean is several feet from the sand and you have to jump off of it. The hotel is only about 30 minutes from Stonetown in the airport which makes it really convenient if you are only there for a few days. I had a massage, which was excellent. I booked through Expedia so I got 20% off of spa service and a free drink. I will definitely be back with my family. "

"Our best experience ever, my wife and I had our honeymoon for a full week here before heading to greece. The safari, the sand dune, snorkling and star fish diving was the best experience by this resort. I highly reccomend 10/10. You wont refret it at all"

"Initially we had some issues with our villa and with the condition of its balcony, which was due for refurbishment as the neighbouring villa was being worked on - so it wasn’t a great start, however the staff were attentive and sorted us out by relocating us a brand new private villa which in one word was WOW! Everything else was excellent and would most certainly recommend."

"You will be treated with warm, welcoming service from the moment you arrive and throughout your stay. The food included with the half board is very good with quite a few made to order items including omelets, waffles, and crepes at breakfast and fresh catch of the day fish and pasta at dinner. The rooms are glorious! We had the ocean view villa and it was HUGE!!! It was easy to find lounge chairs by the beach, and they all have shade umbrellas. It was so peaceful and beautiful out there. Warning: I did get sunburned even in the shade on the last day!! The beach does have a pretty varied tide, and the hotel provides reef shoes for low tide, which I recommend because there are sea urchins. There is also seaweed in the water near the shore. You will be provided with 2.5 liters of purified water in your room each day, and water is included at breakfast and dinner. Outlets are all British style 3 prongs, no USB. Power did go out intermittently but never interfered with anything. WiFi is good out at the beach, pool, and lobby but was spotty in the room. This is a quiet area north of Paje, so no other restaurants other than the resort. It was more reasonably priced than our American resorts with $15 pool drinks. They do use purified water for the ice in the drinks and the ChatGPT says they use purified water for all food prep too. "
