"The hotel is nice. Rooms are large and clean. It's convenient for the Scranton area. Being dog friendly is a plus for us. There was an issue with hot water, but hotel staff worked out an agreeable solution for us. We will stay here again"

One piece of information that might be helpful, Waze did not work well for mapping trip back and forth to Elk but google maps did (not sure why, it was very direct, 4.5 miles but Waze was giving a 9 mile convoluted route). "Hemlock Point Lodge is beautiful, well appointed and comfortable for a large gathering. What we liked most about it is that it has a beautiful gathering room with a fireplace and windows that overlook the lake and adjoining that is a large game room that includes a pool table, air hockey table, foosball, and Pac-Man video game machine. The kids loved it and they were all on the same floor with the adults. The property is situated on 100 acres with a lake so it provided lots of hiking opportunities.There are plenty of bedrooms and baths to accommodate a large group. We went during the week between Christmas and New Year's, and there was a ton of snow, which was beautiful. However, the place would also be wonderful to go to in the summertime! I would highly recommend!"
