I think the best sights are those that appeared right in front of your vision when least expected. As is the case here on the day excursion from Kashgar (Kashi to the Chinese). Mountains after mountains with snow peaks and lakes under the #blue sky! Yes, this is a rarity in Asia. Most places are crowded with civilization but this rare window into the heart of China is what takes breath away, not the pollution in the cities! #ontheroad
This is the vista stretching from Kashi in western China to about 2 hours from Pakistan border. We drove for a day to simply enjoy the freedom from crowd and noises in this most populated country in the world! Who could have known there are still plenty of open spaces and fresh air here? #ontheroad
The vista along Karakoram Highway on the Chinese side of the highway. Very well paved and maintained part of the highway dotted with awesome landscape. Oh, not many Chinese were spotted either although this trip was back in 2007 May! 9 years to date! #ontheroad
