Llangollen Valle Crucis Abbey Hotels

"Hotel was just ok, but they had an open fire in the reception area, which basically smelled the whole of the hotel out, and our clothes still smell of it. Had to leave the bedroom window open all night to let fresh air in, even though my wife was cold. On the plus side I would definitely go back to Llangollen it was lovely, but would not stay at this hotel."

"Am giving yhis a very low rateing of 2 stars. I payed £130 for a room breakfast and use of pool. Put on arrival i got told pool and sauna is not included to which i had tp pay exter £10 each. The pool and the spa was cold The steam room stayed on for 5min then went off for 10min as it was on a timer we then had to pay extra for breakfast This is not clealy showing on there site as you pay for just room only. when i booked myself in at the desk the afternoon staff at the desk were very helpful. The next mornin i went down to the deck To be stud around for 10min as no staff were on the desk. I then came back down to hand my key in. Myself and 2 other customers was stud around again for 10min as no staff. But some good points the Rooms were clean and bed was really comfortable. I will not be staying at that hotel again as it miss leadingthat you have to pay extra for breakfast, the use of the pool and towels. "

"Our stay was overall okay, but there were a few disappointments that affected the experience.We specifically booked this accommodation because it advertised a hot tub, which was a big selling point for us. However, it wasn’t made clear at the time of booking that the hot tub is actually shared with other cottages. Had this been clearly stated, we may have reconsidered or at least known what to expect. It would definitely help future guests if this was made more transparent in the listing.Another issue was the temperature in the cottage overnight. Between roughly 2–4am, the cottage became extremely cold despite having the heating boost on. The whole family woke up freezing and had to put on extra layers including hats just to get back to sleep. This made for a very uncomfortable nights.The property is advertised as dog-friendly, which is great, but there are quite strict rules in place for example, dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms. While we completely understand the need for rules, it would be helpful if these were clearly outlined in advance so guests know exactly what to expect when bringing their pets.Overall, the cottage itself was fine, but clearer communication about shared facilities, pet rules, and more reliable heating would have made a big difference to our stay in February. "

"Lodge was a lovely size, couches could do with replacing and the bed we had was very creeky. Fridge needed a good clean but staff were very helpful and friendly."

"Beautiful lodge, beautiful location, home from home, had absolutely everything we could need & more! Communication with the host was spot on too, friendly & prompt. Welcome hamper with some goodies & milk in the fridge for our arrival was a lovely touch & much appreciated. Ground floor beautifully tiled throughout, just remember to pack your slippers, chilly on the tootsies but really gorgeous. Close to lovely walks & good restaurants, shops etc too. We stayed for 4 nights in mid October, weather was horrendous but the lodge was lovely & cosy, we will definitely be back again!!"
