“I was there for the Formula 1 Grand Prix. The circuit is approx. 10 km from the track. I rode my bicycle to and from the track. For me it was 25 minutes there (mostly downhill) and 40 minutes back (mostly uphill). The property gates are locked during the night, so the risk of my bike bring stoken was negligible. The staff was friendly, but reacted weird at checkout when I said there was water dripping from the ceiling in my bathroom. No biggie, but it doesn't want to make me point out technical……

“We paid a budget price so were not expecting luxury, however there were lots of very basic issues with the house.
The place was very musty on arrival and it seemed as if it hadn’t been opened up for a long time. The smell also pervaded the kitchen cupboards so I had to wash every item of crockery and cutlery before we could use it. Not that there was a lot of crockery - only side plates and tapas dishes. Only half of the toaster worked, there were many light fittings without bulbs, we had 4……

“The hotel is located in Premià de Mar, which is a quieter coastal town outside of Barcelona. While the area has its own charm and beach access, travelers should be aware that it is relatively far from central Barcelona and requires regular train travel to visit the main attractions of the city.
