“Excellent service and very peaceful location, even though slightly steep last few 100 yards for the car. Nice view from the room and property in general. Staff and cook are very very polite. Rooms were clean and organized. Bathrooms were also clean, although slightly wet after they clean (hosts can perhaps look into this and ensure bathrooms are wiped after cleaning). This was only reason for for a 4-star rating on “rooms” (instead of 5-star rating).”

“This hotel is in a very beautiful spot with a multi level garden and incredible views of the hills around. The owners and staff were extremely kind and welcoming. We had coffee out under the arbor and breakfast was brought to our veranda. Would definitely stay here again.”

“The Ibex property has one of the best views in all of Coonoor. We visited some of the higher end hotels and found that the views did not compare to that of Ibex. The bungalow is a old heritage style, gorgeous bungalow , the staff is very very sweet and helpful, and it's very worth the price! They even provide a good breakfast, games and books on request, and gave us a little goodbye token which was so warm and loving! ”

“Great location on hilltop, on the way to the highest point of Ooty (Dodabetta). Quite spacious and they have lot of activities to spend time. The best thing I like the evening tea stall that serves variety of teas to pick from with light snacks. And that was on the house! The availability of choices in liquor were limited. Food quality in buffet breakfast and dinner was OK - can be improved. We liked ala-carte dishes.”

“The towels were dirty, though they changed it the new ones were the same as old ones. Food was the worst part, nothing was available except tea and coffee. To top it off the manager was very unpleasant. About the property itself, it’s placed in a very scenic location and all we enjoyed was the nature from the room sit out. That was the good part.”

“Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt in einer wunderbaren, leicht abgeschiedenen Atmosphäre. Es waren leider noch einige Bauarbeiten auf dem Gelände, die meist jedoch nicht störten. Man kann (gegen Aufpreis) ein Lagerfeuer bekommen und draußen Musik hören. Muß man mal abwarten, wohin sich das noch entwickelt. Zuviel wäre sicherlich der Atmosphäre abträglich. Werde ziemlich sicher wiederkommen und würde mich freuen, wenn es dann bessere Leseleuchten am Bett gibt.”

“Overall, the property was an excellent choice. It was clean, the resident managers were readily available and very friendly. It was comfortable for 7 of us. We used the cottage as well. This property is advertised as coming with chef services. The person who cooked meals was the property helper and he had limited resources. There was no CHEF on staff. The board in the dining room indicated charges of 1000 rupees a day for over 5-9 guests. We were overcharged (in dollars) and when I sent a text……

“We stayed for 3 nights in Dec 17. Rooms in cottage category are newly built, clean & have large private terrace with 270 degrees of beautiful tea plantation view. The surroundings of the property has colorful landscaping and sits on the edge of the plantation. Just like a scenic picture. Food is absolutely amazing. Just to name a few... Gajar ka halwa, South Indian Biryani, South Indian Curry, sevai kheer, Dosa... were simply perfect! We also used sightseeing packages that comes with clean……
