The setting was charming & captivated your heart. It was wonderful falling to sleep with the ocean rhythms. The staff, cleanliness and indoor & outdoor environment met our expectations. As a side note, we were amazed the freeway entrance was so near the Inn.

First, all rooms have a beach view. It’s truely amazing and on two of three days we saw Dolphins swimming. We did not walk the nearby beach and we read about the “no northbound exit” beforehand. It didn’t bother us one bit. The view, the staff and the caretakers were amazing and did everything to make our stay awesome. They had recommendations, extra towels, drinks even though the restaurant was closed. Rooms were clean and the property was taken care off. We wanted to be at the beach and that’s exactly where we were. Will stay there again!

We love this place we almost don’t want to tell anyone about it! I do wish they had a hot tub though so that when visiting and the weather happens to run fresh there would still be an amenity to enjoy. It would also be nice if they offered a burger or something a bit more chill on the dinner menu too so that if you’re staying more than one night you don’t get bored of the same seafood fancy food! Like, we love fancy food, but sometimes you just want a burger 😂

We recently stayed at Cliff House Inn for 4 days to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it turned out to be such a memorable getaway. The hotel itself is beautiful and perfectly located. I had requested a birthday surprise, and they thoughtfully decorated our room with flowers, which made it feel extra special. Our room was clean, cozy, and had an ocean-facing view, waking up to the sound of waves was just magical. One of the best parts of our stay was simply soaking in the surroundings, whether it was sitting by the pool, watching the ocean waves crash, or enjoying the stunning sunsets right from the property. They also offer a continental breakfast, and having it while sitting by the ocean made mornings feel so peaceful and relaxing. The location is super convenient too, very close to the freeway, about 15 minutes from Santa Barbara and 15 minutes from Ventura Harbor, which made exploring really easy. The property itself is gorgeous, with trails nearby that are great for biking. And the highlight? We even spotted whales and dolphins from the beach chairs during sunset, such an unforgettable experience. Overall, it was a really lovely stay and the perfect place to relax, celebrate, and enjoy some quiet time by the ocean. Highly recommend!

Fantastic location with a view and a spectacular sunset....along with non-stop freeway noise. Everything else is very retro, which is great, but the staff seemed overworked and a bit gruff. Food is great.

It overlooked the beach and food was great. Just spendy. Cable never worked no water pressure. Little parking. Had to pick up food for the room. Steak dinner was great but no plates plastic silver ware. Night time to much noise from downstairs. I won't recommend to anybody.

I stayed here for one night. The location is absolutely fantastic—right in front of the ocean, with a beautiful view. It’s also very convenient for getting on and off Highway 101. I booked an ocean view room, but it was located up a set of stairs, and the window faced the stairway. Every time someone passed by, it made it hard to relax. While the flooring in the room seemed newly updated, the rest felt quite outdated. The shower, in particular, was terrible—within a minute of turning on the water, it wouldn’t drain properly and started to pool, which was very unpleasant. There were also holes in the walls, and the blinds next to the toilet and sink were extremely dirty. Breakfast was below average, so don’t expect much. The coffee was not good, and there was no decaf option. There were small pastries, bread, bagels, boiled eggs, fruit, and cereal, but when I went at 9 a.m., the fruit was already gone. Dinner, on the other hand, was reasonably good.

Great location! Great staff, had dinner at their restaurant and it was delicious! Property is old and it feels like a motel 6. The rooms have thin walls and the bed was hard as a rock for my taste. Place was clean. That being said, you can’t beat the price and it’s so lovely and secluded. Will def come back again for dinner.
