My room was dark and dindgy. Lights were burned out. Breakfast was lacking, Common area was messed up. Every thing was outdated, like the bead spreads looked 20 years old. Needs a total renovation.

I stayed here while on a pheasant hunt. I was there to sleep and get up to hunt, so it served its purpose and that’s all I can ask for. I will be staying here again next year.

Clean but pretty worn and bedding is thin. Bath towels are small and thin. Heat was either on or off. Set to auto it never shut off and room got way too hot despite set at 70. Breakfast was ok but no juice at all - machine marked as broken. Pop machine broken too. Could be a great place but there are a lot of things that need to be fixed. Fantastic location and staff were great.

Meanwhile back at the Pizza Ranch Hotel…
I’ve stayed in plenty of budget hotels, but this was pretty bad to be honest. There were plenty of visible stains on the bedding: blood, mystery stains. The mattresses were very thin as were the pillows. When we asked for more pillows and towels, as there were only two on each bed and two (paper thin, dirty) towels total, we were given a death glare and quizzed on which room we were in and how many guests there were. Breakfast consisted of individually wrapped snack cakes, bread, and coffee. Given that this hotel is attached to a Pizza Ranch (that’s correct) I wouldn’t have been surprised if there was day old pizza slices for breakfast. Hard pass, I’ll pay a bit more and stay elsewhere in Vermillion. This is not worth the meager savings.

We only stopped here because we had already been driving for 13 hours. The description of the hotel couldn't be further from the truth. When you booked, it was nonrefundable and we could see why. The room was very dirty. There was dried food and peanut butter all over the table. The bathroom had thick black mold in the shower enclosure. There were hairs in the bathroom from previous occupants. The blankets were beyond threadbare. The fabric was totally gone on one, with only the rubber liner left. The second was missing most of the fabric as well. Breakfast was pathetic. We found one cup of oatmeal. When we asked for a second cup, the very crabby woman at the front desk said, "No. There is no more. We will order more next week." A gallon of milk and "orange flavored" drink from Walmart were in a small fridge, with mystery junk food pastry and sugary cereal piled on the counter. This place is a dive, and a ripoff.

Very disappointing…
Towels were horrible, as was water pressure. The “continental breakfast” consisted of toast, bagels, or prepackaged muffins, juice machine was out of order, two kinds of cereal (some sort of flakes), so we went to Cafe Brûlée (HIGHLY recommend!!); when we returned to our room (before 9:00, so two hours left until checkout) the bed was stripped and they’d started cleaning. 😡

Our hotel was very nice, we had a king room on the first floor, A/C was excellent, t.v. Was great and Wi-Fi was secure! Our bed was very comfortable! … however our room didn’t have a rack to hang dress clothes and the breakfast room didn’t have any fruit, no yogurt and served cold cereal, toast with no butter or margarine, bagged bagels from grocery store, continental breakfast could use some improvements, maybe waffles or biscuits and gravy, or some type of egg sandwich! It was too many carbs for diabetics or other health conditions!

Lady at the front desk tried to make us pay for dogs who never entered her property and deactivated our keys. In the morning, she closed the breakfast room 5 min early, 5 min before 9 am. The towels were thread-bare and the trash in the room had not been emptied.

We were overnighting on our way to a dog show. Hotel itself is run down and needs a decor update. Shower did not work when I told the front she said she knew!!! Then perhaps fix it orrrrr. Put us in a room that has a working shower. Breakfast was horrible - very little food or choices. Would not recommend.

They are renovating - what is completed is really nice so it will be excellent soon but for now some things are a little dated. Our room was clean and spacious and the facility is right next to the dome so conveniently located for university events. Staff was really nice and welcoming. Would stay here again.

If what you’re looking for is no frills and a place to rest your head then it’s ok. We were able to check in early and the day was nice; had a room with 2 queen beds, pillows were a bit flat so e we took the pillows from other bed, it was obvious by the smell and black eye makeup the pillowcase was dirty. Towels were thin and one of 2 we had was ripped and frayed. There was a coffee maker in room but no coffee. The Continental breakfast was prepackaged pastries and cereals. Hotel is in a remodel due to water damage, so only 4 rooms upstairs on the East side are open. Hotel needs an overhaul.

Yes the price is great but you are giving up quite a bit of everything else. The property is dated and should be thought of as a bed in a room if everything else in town is sold out. Bed was rock hard, pillows stiff. Can hear every step some takes walking in the room above me. Heater was not able to hold a constant temperature, smoke detector was hanging off the wall. On the good side the toilet did flush and the lights turned on and off.
