"Fantastic location on waterfront. Reception staff incredibly helpful. Really kind to me following husbands illness and extended hospital stay. Hotel full but they managed to always extend my stay without having to change rooms.
Whilst room very clean on arrival housekeeping very patchy and not up to the standard expected. Failed to replenish coffees etc. Clean towels and mugs given but dirty ones left in room. Rubbish not removed. Had to go to reception to request proper clean and bed change. Patchy. Not consistent.
Breakfast excellent and the location of restaurant right on waterfront was a great start to the day. However no food available the rest of the day except for 6 days when restaurant opened from 5-9. No room service. When returning from hospital at9.30 I was not even able to order soup or sandwich and had to go out and find a supermarket.
My situation might have made me biased.
I would stay again if returning to Bergen in happier circumstances. Location, bed comfort, shower pressure, breakfast,reception staff, we’re all 5star and outweighed niggles."
