"On first arriving in our room, we immediately saw soda sprayed all over the wall behind the bed. We had to have someone come in and clean it as soon as we arrived. Our water closet (toilet room) reeked of urine. You could see streaks across the back of the toilet and walls. I mentioned it to the front desk and asked that it be cleaned very well but it was not cleaned well enough. The urine stench was present the entire stay. The floors in our room were also dirty. Walking around in sock feet, you could feel your socks sticking to the floor. The staff weren’t super helpful either. When we asked for transit information or directions, they were unable to provide any help. We toured Europe for a month and the Mercure was by far the dirtiest, least helpful and one of the most expensive places we stayed. Definitely not worth the money."
