Had a really nice stay in Victoria. James Bay Inn is an older boutique hotel in a great neighborhood. Bed was super comfy and room was huge. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend!

The staff was superb-helpful and cheerful; the room was lovely-just as shown on-line; the location was perfect-close enough to everything so we could walk. We enjoyed the restaurant for breakfast and dinner-delicious food either terrific service. We look forward to a return stay.

Lovely older hotel - well loved and maintained with lots of character. Staff were wonderful. Room was smallish, and the floor sloped but the bed was so comfortable and the mini fridge was great to have. Walking distance to downtown, the beach and Beacon Hill Park. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The hotel is very conveniently located, close to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia. Public transportation is easily accessible, making it simple to get to the ferry terminal, the airport, and various attractions. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet and peaceful at night. The front desk offers iced lemon tea, and in the morning there is hot coffee, hot water, and a variety of tea bags available—very thoughtful amenities.

The customer service all around was very good with Roy at the front desk being exceptional. Good value and great food for breakfast in the restaurant. The hotel is within walking distance to the inner harbour and Parliament buildings.

It was a fantastic stay at a Heritage site. The staff are friendly, helpful and very efficient. The room was clean and small but perfect for my needs. It was easy to get around from the hotel and close to a number of tourist destinations. There is a very good restaurant and pub attached to the hotel if you don't want to go out but there are also some very good restaurants close by. I will definitely return the next time I am in Victoria.

In the cottage, the bedroom were well spaced from the dining room such that one person could have a zoom meeting without disturbing another person. Kitchen was big and generous. Microwave and kettle in the same outlet blew the breaker. A warning of this would be appreciated. Manager Heddy went above and beyond to help get us a partial refund from Expedia when we needed to leave a day earlier. So grateful for his efforts!

I asked for a quiet room, but it was quite the opposite. It is an old hotel 115 years old to be exact. It has a ton of character but when you have four people staying above you in a room, it’s quite noisy. The floor creeks a lot and you can hear every movement. Very noisy ! It was the weekend, so there was lots of ambulances and firetrucks from midnight until about 1 AM. I advise you to choose the top floor to stay in, but view advise. There is no elevator in this hotel. They are very helpful and help you with bags. My bathroom smelled like sewer. I told them about it. They didn’t seem too worried.. The breakfast is excellent in the restaurant, homemade potatoes and thick cut bacon

This is a great boutique type hotel. Very clean, great staff , restaurant was a great breakfast option and a pub on site for that evening drink if you like. Great location to the harbour. Would recommend if you are looking for good value away from the larger hotels

Great location if you want to explore downtown Victoria. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable and clean! The free and secure parking is a huge bonus if you drive. Makes the stay even more reasonable. Great value!
