We didn’t use the pool and were rarely in our room which had all we needed. Staff and owners were very engaging and helpful. We were taken aback by roosters crowing at night.

The Sea Gate Hotel was a wonderful place for us to stay and enjoy Vieques! We shared a huge balcony with our friends and that provided a big space to hang out together. The balcony literally always had a refreshing breeze and the views of the town, mountain and sea were so amazing! The rooms are older and provide everything you need with a kitchen area and a bedroom with a bathroom. The bed was soft and comfortable- appreciate that amazing memory foam mattress! Kelly could not have been more helpful, kind or caring- she is an excellent host!!! This is a small family run hotel that has been there for decades and we all really liked it. It is not fancy in any way, but it is a great place to stay. There is an adorable small three foot pool that was built for Kelly when she was a child and it provides a refreshing cool dip. They also have horses and horseback riding. We would definitely stay again with Kelly and Penny. Take away breakfast is minimal and in a small room, but was appreciated with fruit, toast & juice. We were very happy with our stay!

Kelly contacted me prior to our stay to assist in our travel to the cottage. Very hrlpful. The history of the place is very interesting. Such great prople. The chalet was clean and comfortable. Beds and linens great. Everything you need to enjoy your stay. The complimentary breakfast includes fresh fruit grown on the property. Enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend.

The staff is friendly. They accommodate and help with requirements to make stay at the island a pleasant stay. The hotel is simple but has everything you need to enjoy the trip. It is close to the Ferry (but it is located on the top of a small hill), which make it convenient for the departure. It takes around 25min to get from the hotel to the south part of the island (Esperanza) in a golf cart. Great location, great service, well equiped.

I fell in love with this place the second I walked through the gate. You enter a lush green garden filled with tropical trees and flowers. I was warmly welcomed by Penny, who I believe owns the property with her niece. She took the time to walk me through the island map and patiently answered all my questions. Her niece showed me to my room and even helped carry my luggage upstairs!
I booked last minute and hadn’t researched much, so I was pleasantly surprised to find my room included a small kitchen and a huge terrace shared with just one other couple. The views from the terrace are incredible. And little did I know — they have horses on the property and even offer rides!
A light breakfast is included, which is perfect to start the day. The bananas were from their own trees — such a special touch. The whole experience reminded me of those charming European bed-and-breakfasts where you actually get to meet the longtime owners and feel right at home. I’ve only experienced something similar once while traveling in Naples, Italy.
I’m honestly sad I stayed only one night because this is one of the coziest guesthouses I’ve visited. It’s not a fancy hotel, but it’s clean, comfortable, and has everything you need. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Vieques.
And as others mentioned — be prepared for the noisy roosters… they don’t stop, even at night 😅 Bring earplugs!

This place is awesome. Penny and Kelly take care of you. The rooms are very nice and clean. And you can take a horse ride if that is something you enjoy. We were sad when it was time to leave.

My family enjoyed a very pleasant stay at the SeaGate Hotel. The hotel is located on a small hill with beautiful view of the sea and the town from hotel deck. My room was very clean and cozy. I would definitely come to stay in this hotel again if I would visit Vieques island in the future.
The owner Kelly is very warmhearted and willing to help. We accidentally left a bag on the ferry boat coming to Vieques, Kelly offered to send me to the ferry and she helped find the lost bag. She saved my day!
We had a large group with 6 families staying at the hotel, Kelly properly assigned rooms according to family size and number of kids. All families had a wonderful time staying here. We will recommend the Sea Gate hotel to our friends.

The room and view was amazing! Penny and Kelly were great hosts, providing plenty of help and tips for visiting the island. Not too far of a walk from the ferry terminal, as long as you're physically fit and can walk uphill.

Room was clean and cozy. There were lots of things you don’t find in an overnight stay, bug spray, matches, candle. Penny was very nice and helpful. She outlined places to go and where to find restaurants. All check in instructions were clear and accurate. Really enjoyed the stay overall. There was even a light spread of breads, pastries, cereal, fruit, and coffee that we enjoyed. Will definitely stay again next time we visit Vieques!! Thanks Penny & Kelly!!

Everyone super friendly and helpful. Kelly went out of her way to give us all the information we needed to enjoy our time on Viesgues. In addition, she helped us out of a bind when we accidentally locked our car keys in our rental. A life saver. It was also a very nice place with an incredible view. Wish we had had more time to stay and enjoy it longer.
