We really enjoyed using this property for a quick little getaway. It had everything that we needed. The proximity to the beach is phenomenal. If you enjoy bayside living, this is your spot.
Mary, the host, made herself available in case of any emergencies which not only did we appreciate, but we found very professional.
If we're ever in the mood for another bayside getaway, we will not be looking elsewhere. It really was a fantastic 5 days on and off the beach.
If you're looking for somewhere simple, quiet, & safe to stay this is a good place! It's about 20 minutes to both Cape May & Wildwood beaches, Sunset Beach, Cape May Lighthouse, & Washington Street outdoor shopping. The house is clean, driveway parking for 2 vehicles, & backyard is shaded. The bay beach was good for walks (the dog loved it!) & sunbathing, but not for swimming.
Overall our stay was really nice. Not far from the Wildwood beach. It’s steps away from Delaware bay, so bird watching was excellent. Host was responsive when we had trouble with code to get into house. Description was spot on.
The property was nice, exactly like the picture the host was very kind and helpful when needed...Didnt have any problems besides wishing i could have stay longer...nieghborhood was relaxing and quiet.. will definitely be looking out for this property again.... Thank you again Mrs. Mary
The inside was okay owner did not supply most of the essentials washer and dryer broken, no tv or internet due to owner negligence area was nice but the owner needs to keep up with broken items such as ice water and ice cube dispenser broken not really recommended for children no yard etc. Sorry about the review but itis true
this home was great, well kept, and just what we needed. a nice quiet getaway from reality. beaches and key locations within a short distance from cottage. spacious yard big enough for my dog to explore and all stay safe.
The property manager is a pleasure to work with. The property is clean and spacious. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The bay side beach is one block away with stunning sunsets. Cape May town is about 15 mins drive.
It was so nice to be able to bring our dogs and have them run around at the bay. They absolutely loved it. The sunsets are picture perfect every night! Absolutely beautiful. And the water in the bay was nice and warm.
We enjoyed our stay. The house worked well for us.
however, Vrbo should make writing a review easier, and more accessible after a stay . How about sending an e-mail, make it simple, that is customer service.

Great location
Mary was very accommodating and gave several good recommendations for local restaurants..we especially liked Harpoon Henry's. She also gave us a nice bonus of a late checkout which was much appreciated. Pet friendly, comfortable home - it had everything required for a nice vacation. Thanks, Mary!
First I want to thank the owner Mary who really went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our vacation. From a gorgeous house and well kept property will definitely rent again in summer nto having all of the necessities we needed and enjoyed. Mary who is extremely responsive from messages to phone calls made sure our stay would be memorable and it absolutely will be.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
You really cannot beat the proximity to the beach! The house is a good size with a nice full kitchen. The master bedroom is a nice size and has a smart tv. We ended up having to buy roku at Walmart to use for the living room tv. The wifi strength here is good as well. The neighborhood is nice and easily walkable for dogs. The owner was easy to communicate with during our stay. A downside is that they are using a photo of a different bathroom for their listing. It's pretty misleading compared to what the actual bathroom looks like, it was also a bit dirty. Also that the second bedroom is really a converted front porch/sunroom that has a lot of windows so if you plan on using it for a smaller child like we did, they will get woken up by the sun or any outside road noise. The property could definitely use some fixing up. Overall if you don't mind accommodations that are a bit outdated and really want to be steps from the beach it's a great spot.
We had a great stay at Mary’s house. The house was clean and had what we needed. Mary was quick to respond back to me on an issue and was able to fix right away. Location was perfect where we could enjoy both wildwood and Cape May. We also enjoyed our daily walks to the bay. The bay was a little muddy by the entrance but walking down further we found perfect spots for both kids and dogs to play in. The house was perfect for dogs with a big backyard. I would stay here again!

Pleasant Experience!
We had a really relaxing stay close to Cape May. Villas is located only about 15 minutes or so from the beach. If you think that you will be able to go to spend the day at the beach here, you will be disappointed. It is very muddy and buggy. Great place to walk, but that's about it. Wonderful sunsets. The house is very comfortable and the owner is super!

The Villas getaway for two busy people.
First impression - delightful: both in location and ammenities. Looks exactly like the pictures. Large yard with patio, outdoor shower, and well done landscaping. Lovely remodeled home with warm colors and updated appliances. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Plenty of room to relax, Cable TV, WiFi, comfortable and immaculately clean. Home has air conditioning but we opted to just open the windows and let the breeze in. Beach is accessible with only a 1/2 block walk. Wonderful beach to walk or to enjoy the sun. We watched beautiful sunsets as we relaxed on the patio and beach. There is a constant breeze in this location, which invited evening walks, outside activities or just relaxing on the patio with a drink and a book. The area has a lot to offer for activities as well as wonderful restaurants. This home has been well tended, is centrally located adjacent to the beach and very comfortable. Nicely appointed kitchen with glass topped stove, dishwasher, stainless steel refrigerator and icemaker, also has a washer/dryer in the breezeway. Kudos to the owners for a lovely home. We will be making reservations again for this quaint getaway.
We stayed in this house for 2 weeks in August and had to leave for 2 days when the county had a mandatory evacuation for Hurricane Irene. The inside of the house looked like the pictures, but the 2nd bedroom was very small, it had been an entry hall way before the remodeling. The yard was quite unattractive and had baskets of fake flowers around the patio area. The grass was meager, both in the front and back yards. The gas grill didn't work and we had to use the charcoal grill. If we had been advised that it didn't work we would have brought our own portable gas grill as we prefer it to charcoal. To get to the beach, you had to drop down to a cement block about 2 feet below the road and then another foot to the sand, and then walk about 100 feet to the beach. We have stayed in other properties in this area for the last 8 years and always found them equipped with the proper cleaning supplies. We always clean up before we leave, but in order to do so here, we had to go out and buy cleaning equipment as what was there was minimal. It took a lot of time to use the broom and a swifter on the wood floors and the bathroom, a dust buster would be so much more efficient and faster. My assumption was that the cleaning supplies were locked up in a separate part of the house that we didn't have access to and as we wanted to get our deposit back, we went out and bought what we needed.
Great location for leashed walks with your dog on the beach morning and evening and fantastic sunsets a block away. Cape May promenade with fantastic dining and shopping and surf views only 20 minutes away. We went during prime season so we had to be strategic as to parking for our swim in the ocean day (got the parking ap and arrived at 9:00 am and ate breakfast at Bill’s Pancakes first). Mary has a fantastic clothes washer & drier that served us well, as did her outdoor shower (but note her knobs are reversed as to temperature). We had a brief few moments of panic when we first got there and had trouble with her door lock and couldn’t get Mary on the phone, but we finally figured out that the “0” was erased from use and was originally on the “9” key. We also had trouble getting the internet but when we finally talked to Mary on day 2, we discovered the prior guest had changed the password from what Mary had listed. Mary told us how to get the new password from the tv and problem solved. Things I wish had been different: lots of missing lightbulbs. Mary said they were in the kitchen cabinets but I could not find any. She then offered to reimburse us if we went up to Walmart to purchase some. Truthfully we were too busy being out and about to do that so we made due. Highly recommend going to Sunset Beach for miniature golf, ice cream, souvenirs and another take on the sunset (free parking) and Cape May Point park for the lighthouse and some local lore/exhibits (they have hiking too but it was too hot while we were there). Also highly recommend the zoo (free parking) where my son enjoyed the animals and the carousel (they also have a ropes course). Would not say this house is a destination in itself (I personally was disappointed in the fire pit/ability to use the backyard in the evening), but it’s proximity to good times and as a supportive base for them, it is a good find. Thank you, Mary!
Before this vacation I didn’t fully understand how how profound the effect of beaches in such an intimate, natural setting could be. Just a short walk to an access point to what felt like another dimension - a huge, sprawling coastline peppered here and there with people, but essentially giving the impression it’s only you and majestic Mother Nature. Our first walk was during low tide and even on a cloudy day, the gentle glow of the sunset was calming. Nature surrounds you - as described, horseshoe crabs were left behind as I’m sure they have for many, many years. Ripples in the sand formed by the water with pools reflecting created such a majestic scene. The following day we returned during high tide and were amazed to find just 5’ brought the waterline so far in compared to the previous day. The sand was soft, gentle currents serenaded us, and there was no noise pollution - incredible. The house is so conveniently located to this relaxing portal, yet only 15/20 minutes drive to the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk and beaches in Wildwood or the charming Cape May promenade and beaches. It was hot and summery as expected so the yard wasn’t plush for walking, but created yet another inspirational setting as we watched wild rabbits scurry about, eating and cooling in the sand amongst a sea of what I learned is the only cactus native to the eastern US. (I spotted one shaped like Mickey Mouse.) birds abound and sing their songs in the morning while crickets take over the evening. The house is beautiful and open concept. Beware the first step into the house though, my hands were full so I didn’t see the slight step down inside the door. Great communication with the property owner. If you are hoping for a touristy night-life condo experience, this might not be for you. But if you’re hoping to find serenity, this is it. We will be back again for sure unless she no longer opens the home to others and prefers to keep it to herself. After reading one of the reviews here, I could understand if she did. I pray that doesn’t happen though - and future travelers respect and appreciate the opportunity to stay there. I know we do. We also took our dog and that was so huge in our decision to stay there. He wasn’t able to run in the yard because like I said, it’s summer and the grass is not plush - he wasn’t fond of walking on it. If he enjoyed water, we could have taken him to the beach before 11am or after 4pm. We loved every moment!
The place has very old furniture and the bedroom is unusable due to the moth ball smell. The bathroom does not have a single place to put your bathroom stuff other than the top of the toilet. The back yard is not usable either due to carpets all over, cactus and unusable furniture. The beach is not a swimming beach - it is a walking and sunset beach and it should be noted that dead horse shoe crabs are common during the summer on the beach so as not to surprise guests when they get on the beach. Other than all the above, everything is just 15-20 minutes away so you can drive to a suitable beach and get out of the house.
