“The accommodation was small and very basic but did include the essentials, even a washing machine, which was useful for a longer stay. It would suit someone looking for a simple place with the basics covered. However, the location was not ideal for a typical holiday stay. It is situated within an industrial estate and quite far from the main holiday areas and resorts. There was no outdoor seating area or designated place to dry clothing, which made it less convenient after using the washing……

Ich bin einigermaßen fit , so dass mir die Berge nichts ausgemacht haben, im Gegenteil sie haben mich fit gehalten.... Ich würde immer wieder genau dieses Apartment buchen.”

“The room was very clean and as described - the kitchen included all the things you need for a shortish stay, we were able to cook dinner when we wanted to. Site lovely and quiet - out of town but with easy access to a bus route or the beachfront walkway. The beds are very hard - it's put me off ever having a memory foam mattress! Although there are safe's in the room, you have to pay rental for a key to use them (it's the same rule for the air conditioning remotes) which seems a bit much when……

“Das Zimmer entsprach leider nicht den grundlegenden Hygiene- und Sicherheitsstandards. Während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts gab es Probleme mit Insekten im Schlafzimmer und im Badezimmer. Auch nach einer angekündigten „Double Cleaning“-Reinigung blieb ein totes Insekt sichtbar an der Decke, was den Eindruck erweckte, dass die Reinigung nicht gründlich durchgeführt wurde. Zusätzlich kam es zu einem Wasseraustritt im Schlafzimmer, wodurch der Fliesenboden nass und rutschig war. Dies stellte……

“We really enjoyed our stay in Betancuria. The house was really clean and thoughtful equipped and beautifully designed. For us as a family it was ideal but as already mentioned the doors of the rooms don’t close properly. For us it was a good homebase to explore the island if you don’t want to stay in the touristy areas. After 6 pm there is not a single tourist left in this beautiful town! Next shopping in Antigua, the restaurants in Betancuria close at 6pm! I loved the house and the entire……

We went out a few nights for dinner and we WhatsApp the devotion desk who booked us a taxi (could be tricky flagging one down). The entire stay was perfect and we will definitely be returning.
