This cabin stands on its own at the end of a side road, hidden from neighbors’ view and bathed in sunlight from morning to evening. The view looks out toward Raulandsfjell and Silkedalen, and the cabins here are spaced far apart, creating a sense of tranquility that’s hard to find elsewhere.
Rauland offers hiking opportunities for all skill levels. The child-friendly Dansarsteinen is an easy 2.5-km hike, while Falkeriset offers a 360-degree panoramic view and takes 1–2 hours round-trip. For a longer and more challenging day, Bossnuten is a great choice with fantastic views of the mountain landscape.
Fagersand is Rauland’s sandy beach and recreational area, with kayak rentals and canoeing on the lake during the summer season. The area has hundreds of mountain lakes for trout fishing, and children under 16 fish for free. A shared fishing license can be easily purchased online.
In Rauland, you’ll find Lega Cheese Factory and Bakery, offering award-winning cheeses and traditional products, as well as Telemarkstunet, featuring replicas of old houses from the area. Gautatoppen, at 1,884 meters above sea level, is a lovely day trip, whether on foot or via the mountain lift.
