Spacious house, accommodated all 12 of us with no problem. Lots of toys for kids, and parking for 5 cars. Internet, AC, & TVs worked well. Beds were OK, and kitchen equipment was adequate (we cooked a lot). Nothing fancy, and common areas are a bit dark due to orientation of house and neighboring homes close by, but nice neighborhood. 2-min walk to beach.

Family Friendly

Pros: The property has 2 kitchens, 2 loving rooms, plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms. Several bedrooms have thier own balcony. 2 sets of washer and dryers (great for large groups). The property has plenty of amenities to help you enjoy the beach and relax. The backyard is fenced in and there is free parking (great for VA Beach area). There are fire extinguishers, and other safety items at the property. The rules are not unreasonable for check out. The TVs operate on Roku. We didnt find remotes for each TV, but you can use the app without an issue. The property has a playroom- which was the selling point for my child. We had enough space and bathrooms in the house that we were not on top of each otherCons: The property needs to be fumigated. Spiders, wasps, flies and mosquitoes inside of the home (beginning the day we arrived) made it uncomfortable. Everyone has large bites and 2 were stung. The coffee maker in the first kitchen does not properly work. The property is dated which is disappointing when you are spending thousands of dollars to stay there. Several drawers did not work. One of the bathrooms only had cold water. The appliances are quite old and as others mentioned do not have water dispenser or ice makers. Late check in at 4 and early check out at 10am. * we checked into the place in the evening - so I am only sharing for awareness*. The stairs are narrow and one person got injured.

Great vacation house

My family and I and another family shared the property. We had a great time! The back deck in the backyard are great. The outdoor shower is great. The large dining room room is perfect for big groups. I highly recommend this property for large groups.

Family Reunion

My family was in town for a funeral. We came from different states and met at the house. There were 12 of us and the ages ranged from 90 to almost 2 years old. The location was perfect. The access to the beach was easy and the owners provided chairs, towels, umbrellas, sun screen, and a wagon to haul it all down. Chics Beach was a wonderful location for the children to play in the ocean. We would definitely consider renting the house again should the occasion arise.

wedding weekend/ great time

we had a wonderful time. The house was perfect. WE could have used more lamps in the main room as it was dark unless we turned on the bright overhead light. The electrical outlets in the bathroom stopped working upstairs. Y ou might want to check that. But overall, all was well.

Just Steps to the Beach

We really liked the location. The beach umbrellas, chairs and wagons were very helpful with the two year old and all the kites and toys we took to the beach. The three tables allowed us to do puzzles, drawing and meals at the same time. This is a well equipped house. We look forward to returning to this property.

Lovely Family Gathering

We had a fabulous week of family gathering. There was tons of room! Super close beach access. And we couldnt ask for nicer hosts! I think our only disappointments were: No ice makers or keurig, the dining tables were pretty rough, the porches weren't trustworthy and the closets and some of the dressers were dated, and our tub drained slowly.

Steps from beach

Well maintained property suited our needs perfectly. While we came prepared for sun, the provision of sunscreen and bug spray was well appreciated. Walked to beach daily with crew of kids 5-12; drove bikes to state park for trail ride; drove to North Beach one day for some bigger waves to boogie board on (but calmer bay waves were best for our whole crew), and wasn’t too crowded in either location. Double kitchen came in handy cooking for such a large crew. Did hear some late night rowdiness on our last night but was overall a great experience.

Great for a family beach vacation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The location was ideal for going to the beach everyday and our entire family felt comfortable and accommodated with the house. Lots of good restaurants in the area and even a few walkable bars. We loved how there were plenty of chairs, wagons, towels, and sunscreen for everyone. There were a couple small things that we needed to reach out to the owners for, but they were quick to respond and friendly. We would definitely stay again!

A great large beach vacation house in Chic's Beach!

This is literally the only property that can accommodate larger families/groups at the Chic's Beach bayfront beach area of Virginia Beach. This is a local beach that is located next to a residential area and is never crowded. We also love the fact that water is warmer and less rough than oceanfront for our young grandchildren. The house itself is a converted duplex that has 2 fully equipped kitchens/dining areas and two family rooms with TVs. This allowed us to spread out and reserve one space for kids movies and video games and one for adult news/sports/movies. The TVs in the property are all Roku smart TVs and most major streaming networks are available. There are also some games/puzzles and a playroom suitable for young children. The house has comfortable furniture and beds; linens and towels (beach and bathroom) are provided and beds are all made up when you arrive. There are also beach chairs and umbrellas so reduces what you have to bring. The owner/property manager, Beth, was very easy to reach and was able to answer any questions and rapidly responded to a repair issue. We had a great beach family vacation and would love to come back in the future.

Wonderful, Quiet Location for Family Vacation

The property was in the perfect location, a nice quiet neighborhood very close to a great beach. No crowds, walking distance to everything you need. The house was very spacious, clean, and all around a great place to stay for a large family!

Family vacation

With 9 adults and 9 grandkids there was more than enough space for everyone and the kitchens had everything we needed. On sunny days the beach was great and just a short walk away. On the rainy days we visited the aquarium and kids museum. Great place for a larger family vacation to the ocean.

Awesome

Stayed in Va for a family get together and birthday celebration. The house was great with plenty of room for myself and family members. Altogether it was 20 of us and we were able to enjoy the house comfortably. It would definitely be a pick on out list if ever needed again. The only thing that I would say is the 2nd floor Queen bedroom’s tv was not working. Everything else was fine.

Extended family vacation

We enjoyed a nice vacation with our extended family of 10 adults and 2 dogs. The house was well equipped with beach towels & chairs, grille, fenced in yard, and lots of room. Just a short walk to the beach and easy access to anything you may need. Thank you for a great stay!

Nice place

The place was very nice...big and well stocked. The owner did a great job with stocking beach towels and supplies, kitchen things, detergent, toilet paper, etc, etc. Internet was fast and each TV was set up with streaming via Roku which I liked. The location is great. The house is a bit outdated, which was fine. But I would recommend replacing the carpet upstairs. It is stained and smells like urine. That was the one thing throughout the trip that really bothered me. Also need to do something on the back deck as there are spider webs everywhere. I didn't even want to go out the back door because there were enormous spiders hanging there at night.

Family annual vacation

We like to thank Beth and her husband for renting there vacation home to me and my family. Having a vacation home big enough for us to get together and play games and just talk or for me private room to rest and relax. Top it off with the beach minutes from the house.
