The pool was drained, every floor smelled like weed, room was gross. The online pictures were deceiving and I would never recommend this hotel.

Room was filthy, door frames and walls had greasy hand prints all over them the window was smeared never cleaned, dirt under ac, rack above toilet falling off wall, bedroom window blind falling off, the room appeared like they are attempting to remodel but never finished. The house keepers were polite when interacting with them. They list an indoor pool but it is closed. Pictures are definitely not what we experienced! However the location was good and the ocean view was great! Still would not recommend

This is an older hotel with attempt at remodel into a resort. The staff, which I assume to be the owner was standoffish. The parking was tight and we were in a regular sized car. The hallway was dingy with broken tile and flickering lights. The unit we stayed in had a broken security lock- like it had been breached before. The beds were not plush or comfortable, it was a looonnnngggg night. It appears that they bought the hotel, change out countertops and painted with flat paint. There was dust in the corners, the bathtub dripped constant. I checked in at 7 that night and checked out before sunrise the next morning. I am an avid beachgoer and didn't even stay long enough to see it while oceanfront. For 200 dollars a night at this time of year I would have expected better for sure. I would not recommend it. I guess with summer coming guests who pay higher prices will NOT be satisfied with their stay

I parked rooftop and immediately smelled weed. I went through the rooftop entrance door and smelled another strong odor of weed. I turned around and down to the “lobby”. There was a note on the door saying “ I’ll be right back”. Again, I smelled weed. No thank you! I left

Only positive was the view. Booked two rooms with my family Arrived and we are informed the elevator was broken and no hot water so after 3+hr drive my parents had to find new place last minute on xmas eve. I didn't wanna hassle with trying to get refund so i toughed it out for a night. Place was dirty and looked as they started painting two years ago and stopped painters tape and over spray everywhere. Definitely will not be a returning customer

Do not recommend. While it is on the oceanfront, that's the only benefit. As soon as we checked in, he made us aware the elevator was broke and it seems it's been that way. Then low hot water pressure. We got to the room, tv was on and we found out the remote was missing. Also no shower curtain, took a whole day to get one. The room was old, and needed severe upgrading. The only reason we stayed was because it thankfully was clean. I refused to use the couch as it looked super dirty. Also no ventilation in the bedroom and the vent looked horrible. Last morning we had to skip showers as no hot water. We won't be revisiting.

My stay at Sun and Sand Resort Oceanfront Suites in Virginia Beach was unfortunately very disappointing. When we arrived, the first room we were given had a bathtub faucet that ran nonstop. The water was so loud that there was no way we could sleep in that room. Because of that, we had to be moved, and we did not end up in the room type we originally booked. The room we were moved to still had several issues. The walls were dirty and noticeably scuffed, and the overall space felt like it had not been cleaned well. During our stay, the room was never refreshed or serviced, which made it feel even less comfortable. The balcony door was also a problem. It either would not close completely or was extremely difficult to open, which made it feel unsafe and frustrating. What concerned me most was the condition of the common areas. A bag of trash sat in the hallway for our entire three day stay. It was there when we checked in and it was still sitting there when we checked out. Seeing garbage left out like that for days made the hotel feel neglected and poorly managed. I had hoped for a pleasant oceanfront stay, but the level of cleanliness and maintenance was far below what I expected. I truly hope the property improves these issues for future guests.

Dirty halls elevators. Very rough neglected condition. Pool was closed when it was advertised open. Railings were not secure. The updates that have been done were done very poorly. Room itslef was clean and cheap but the day we left i noticed from the boardwalk that a coupke of balconies had c clamps holding railings on.
