"Best kept secret in Nelson County. Exceptional, comfortable,peaceful and secure. Host was available if needed. All basic supplies are there. Very quiet heating and cooling system kept cottage warm and cozy. View from deck with river burbuling below provided the quintessential tranquil setting for relaxation. Don't miss this one."

"This home was the best and the host was better than the best ! Michael went above and beyond with his recommendations and answers to my so many questions. The home is lovely and had absolutely everything you might want or need, including a basket to warm your bath towel ! It was clean and well stocked. It is so peaceful and quiet and relaxing. You can walk/hike right there on the road and other hikes are a just short drive away. along with many wineries. I would highly recommend this house and this host to anyone looking for the perfectly quiet getaway in the woods. We had a great time,"

"Had another GREAT stay at The Refuge ! Nice location with VIEWS all around . Beautiful drives to locations in any direction . The Refuge has everything needed to enjoy a “home cooked meal” ! Comfortable bed ."

"Our stay was wonderful. The rental is spotless, beds are comfy location is private. Love the back porch. We booked for a family wedding so didn't have time to use the grill or fire pit. .Also of note, is the basement door is level to the ground so if anyone has problems with steps there is bedroom, living room and bathroom with a shower seat on the basement level.I absolutely loved this place!!!!."

"If you want to get away from it all, this is the place to go. When you turn out the light it is at best nothing but stars. Three gravel road, through the woods and then you are there. A quiet place to unwind and commune with nature."
