“This was a lovely nature getaway. The drive was easy from Houston and there was plenty for the kids to do - from games availabile inside, to exploring the pond and the nearby forest. We spotted a bald eagle, heard coyotes and saw a few fireflies at night. There is plenty of sleeping room for a group with several children.”

“My husband and I stayed here for my birthday weekend. It was absolutely perfection. Unlike many vacation rentals everything was provided, ample cleaning supplies, toilet paper, and paper towels. The location is unbeatable a very private lodge surrounded by nature. Beautiful birds visited each morning and we were even greeted by an armadillo one afternoon. The lodge itself is immaculate and well-maintained with beautiful and quaint decor. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need……

“We had a great time staying in The Mansion. It was interesting to look at the various documents displayed throughout the home. It's a bit out of town, but that is what makes it charming. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of linens. We cooked all meals and found the kitchen was supplies with everything we needed. Unfortunately it rained very hard the entire weekend we were there which made it impossible to explore the grounds. We would definitely come back.”

“Facilities/buildings could have been cleaner, but were not filthy. Not sure my floor had been swept before I arrived... A bell at the front desk would also be appreciated, as there was no way to get help other than waiting or yelling until someone arrived. The staff were very friendly and helpful, however.”
