A+ for A-frame retreat
What a nice comfortable cabin with a wonderful view. Accommodations were perfect, very clean. We enjoyed many of the area hikes and a great dinner at the Guest House. You will not be disappointed.

Luxury Cabin in the Woods
We had a wonderful stay at Santis Cabin. Everything was as described and the cabin was even better in person. This trip was a getaway for my husband and I - it did not disappoint! It was close to many hiking trails and the area is beautiful. The cabin provided everything we needed on the day we stayed in and played games all day. The owners have done a FABULOUS job of upgrading and renovating - the inside feels homey and cozy - we didn’t want to leave! The owners were also great with communication - they were only a quick text away if we were to need anything. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to all our friends and family.

Exactly what we needed

This is a beautiful cabin. The A-frame windows, high end details, and furnishings make the small space seem large. It is a perfect size for a few people. The kitchen includes so many basics and the property has everything you could need. We enjoying staying mostly in the cabin relaxing, playing games, and reading. Would definitely stay again.

A tranquil retreat!
Santi's cabin was wonderful! It was clean, comfortable, and outfitted with everything we needed for a relaxing week in the woods. We enjoyed spending time on the deck listening to the birds, watching the butterflies, and getting visits from our "deer" friends! There were great hiking trails all around, including Big Schloss and Tibbet Knob. Wolf Gap and Trout Pond Recreation Areas had plenty of parking, with access to trails and activities of all kinds. We recommend stocking up on supplies and food before arriving, as choices for shopping in the immediate area are limited, and the cabin has plenty of storage and a large fridge. Our stay at Santi's was blissfully quiet and peaceful-a very cozy getaway. We highly recommend it!

Immaculately clean and equipped cabin
This cabin exceeded our expectations! Booking was a snap, communication with the owners over some logistics was seamless and prompt, check in was simple and our stay was terrific. It is by far the best equipped cabin we've stayed in, with kitchen glassware, dishes, utensils, cooking implements, and even spices. And to top it all off, it was superbly cleaned. We found the absence of a dishwasher just fine, but note that feature in case it is a necessity (but really, it IS a cabin in the middle of a forest!) We hope to get back very soon!

A great place to retreat and relax
This A-frame in the woods was perfect for family time movies, games, and s’mores around the campfire. The drive to town and nearby trails and pond is a short distance but the windy roads make everything a little farther than one might like. The town has a nice independent bookstore and trading post (coffee, baked goods, beer/wine) but not much else. You’ll need to drive and hour for a city-style grocery and the many vineyards that dot the lush landscape. The house itself is clean and cozy with simple cabin/farm decor. The bathrooms are modern and have good hot water. We had one couple in the bedroom, one in the loft and myself in the primary bedroom. It was very comfortable for five adults.

The property was absolutely gorgeous. We came for our honeymoon and it was exactly what we wanted. Comfy, cute and quiet. Away from the hustle and bustle of the world and just sitting in love in the cabin. Coffee cups with heart shape handles and internet so we could still dance to the music we wanted. We will definitely be back next year for our 1 year anniversary. Absolutely loved it!!!

We enjoyed our stay and the house is just as pictured— gorgeously quaint, but full of the modern amenities that we can’t live without. We did not venture out into the surrounding area, but instead enjoyed a relaxing 2 days indoors and away from the noise of daily life. The house was an easy 2-hour drive from DC, but it felt a bit like another world away, at times. Definitely recommended for a romantic getaway!

Upon checking in to the cabin, we knew we were going to have a comfortable stay. It's a small cabin, but all the space is used very effectively. Absolutely loved our stay at Lost River - it was a perfect weekend getaway for our family of 4. The location was remote (but not too remote), the fall foliage was beautiful, and the property was appointed with perfect modern upgrades and everything we needed. I was glad that we planned ahead for our meals - we brought the food we needed and then cooked at the property. As noted in the property description, restaurants and shops are quite a drive away - which was perfect for our getaway :) We would happily visit again!

From start to finish, our stay at Santis was absolutely incredible. Nestled in the George Washington National Forest, the wood cabin has been beautifully refurbished and the amenities, keepsakes, and decor of the space feels homey and thoughtful. My wife and I enjoyed the views from the deck, cooked several lovely meals in the kitchen, read in the loft space, and had access to exceptional hiking a short drive away. For a quick weekend getaway from DC, it cannot be beat. Would absolutely stay again!

We were looking for a escape from city living and we sure did find it at Sant's Lost Stream. First, the property was one of the cleanest and well organized. The owners did an outstanding job of putting it all together. The area was extremely peaceful and the surrounding attractions were interesting to explore. You can't go wrong renting this ideal cabin. Such a cozy, functional, practical and well-designed home. The space & decor are very appealing. My daughter joined us but she had to work & the setting was perfect for the on-line meetings she had with the backdrop of the forest. My husband & I ventured out to explore the many trails around. Nearby Trout Pond was great for swimming & hiking. The house was so well thought of taking into consideration the needs of the guests. By the way, good choice of beds. We’ll be back
Our family loved this cabin. The photos gave us high hopes and in person it exceeded our expectations. Very clean and beautifully renovated. The siting of the house and view from the deck and master bedroom window were beautiful. We wanted to feel nestled in the woods & that is exactly what we got. Also very clear instructions for check in, check out and use of washer/dryer. Our 5yr old loved swimming at Rock Cliff Lake (@ Trout Pond Recreation Area), which was a very short drive from the cabin.

Beautiful house in the mountains
The house is absolutely beautiful - the views from the a-frame are stunning and there are so many cute details throughout the house that make it feel homey. There is no cell phone service, but the wifi is strong and worked very well (though we enjoyed the opportunity to disconnect for a bit). The kitchen is well stocked and has any gadget or appliance you could need. Waking up to mountain views was so relaxing, and we enjoyed using the fire pit in the evenings. There was also a cornhole set that we had a lot of fun using. We loved this house and would definitely stay here again.

Halloween Getaway
Couldn’t have asked for a more ideal setup. A charming Americana-chic A-Frame tucked away in a quiet little hollow, surrounded by trees and not much else. A short drive from DC, we packed in all of our provisions, but the house was already very well stocked. Covid kept us from exploring nearby towns, but the warm and inviting house made a perfect destination itself. Already making plans to return!

Super cool cabin
Love this cabin. Nicely decorated and very clean upon arrival. Loved the little loft space for napping. While the showers are so well designed with heated floors, etc. I sort of wished for a regular shower head rather than a rain shower head. Kitchen had everything we needed. Favorite spot was the deck in the morning with a cup of coffee or evenings with a glass of wine and snacks. So quiet, just you and the birds and the sound of wind through the dense forest trees. We will definitely come back.

A small quiet cozy cabin.
A very nice cabin up a small hill in the woods. The back woods go forever and the area is very quiet. This cabin had pretty much everything you would need. The 2 bedrooms are roomy. My son stayed up in the loft which has a large futon that he slept on. The deck had a grill to cook and chairs for morning coffee. There were deer around the property and early in the morning 3AM I thought I heard coyotes howling. Most resturants and stores are about 30 minutes away if you forgot something. Everything is pretty much new in the cabin and was very clean. Care should be taken when driving in the area. Some roads are very narrow and i wouldn't recommend traveling at night sense there are few street light if any.

Beautiful remodel and peaceful location
The pictures don't do this cabin justice. Having been recently remodeled, every detail is professionally finished right down to a heated floor in the master bath and state-of-the-art HVAC. You'll really feel a part of the woods and nature with the oversized windows throughout. This place is very well provisioned... every kitchen tool, every sheet and towel, the little reading nook in the loft even has a small collection of DVD's. All was very handy because of how secluded this little gem is. I think I drove into town just once in 5 days, partly because you won't need anything but groceries here, and partly because the cabin is so remote you won't get a single text or call unless you connect to WiFi on your phone. Bring your hiking shoes, canoe and fishing gear... or in my case, a good book and some thick steaks for the propane grill. Lastly, the owners really know how to run a business. Communication was terrific. My only hesitation in writing a good review is that this place will get sold out on the calendar. Really, if you're looking for a peaceful, clean, no-worries place, look no further.

We were lucky to get away right before all of the craziness with COVID hit Maryland and am glad we were able to stay here. Everything was as advertised and the cabin has everything we needed. Dind't get to hit any parks or trails but the quiet roads in the area provided some nice walks and scenary.
