The hotel is great. Clean and exactly what you would expect from a Hilton.
What was not expected is that they hadn’t processed my initial payment properly, which meant when I arrived they said I hadn’t paid. I reluctantly agreed to a pre-authorisation on my card so I could check in. I was assured that no debit would be taken without informing me first. Sadly they decided to not do this and double charge me for the room. Due to the time of the month, the lack of available cash in my bank account meant 8 bill direct debits bounced and I incurred overdraft fees. Hilton’s service from the point onwards fell on deaf ears and they couldn’t have cared less about the financial situation they had put me in. 8 days later, I finally got the 2nd charge back to my bank account, but the damage was done.
NEVER agree to a pre-authorisation if you know 100% they already have your first payment.
