Clean room with modern appliances. Outside lighting could be better, we got in at 9:30 pm and it was VERY dark in the parking lot. Other than that a very good place to stay.

Room clean and quiet. Parking easy and close by. Room was modernized. Clean. This is a hotel where you check in with your cellphone. There is no check in staff. The cleaning people are friendly and helpful. These are the only people of the hotel you will see during your stay.

We were traveling into town for business and I happened upon this hotel when searching for accommodations. Wildrest was such a sweet, cozy, and comfortable cabin for our stay, with modern amenities! The staff was also very attentive and responsive to our calls and requests. This is the perfect option for those who want a little mountain getaway.

Unique little place. Wasn’t sure where to stay last minute and this place had pretty good reviews compared to local hotels in Maggie Valley. I gave it a try and was actually impressed. The property manager greeted us and showed us to a cabin asked if it was ok. He waited for an answer and then told us about the local area. Really neat little town. 15 min or so from Maggie Valley and much quieter. Beds were comfy and didn’t move when my wife moved at night. Showers were really nice tiles from top to bottom. Living room was plenty for the 2 of us. Trust me I don’t normally leave a review unless I left upset. I would stay here again. Thank you for a good nights rest Wild Rest.

A very secluded, private park-like setting in a quiet residential neighborhood. The old lodge and rooms have been thoughtfully and beautifully restored. I'd stay here every time vs a hotel. The value was superior.

I was enchanted by this property. Having a pool, bar, restaurant was much less important than sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch with a blanket. The property was beautiful. I really enjoyed talking to the manager. He was very helpful and gave me information on the history of the property. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. I will be staying here again when in Waynesville. An absolutely beautiful property.

The location was quiet, the room was cozy and the bed was very comfortable. I would have liked the light in the bathroom to be brighter. Also, you have to pay extra for coffee pods. It seems like the room should have automatically included 4 pods (2 regular, 2 decaf). But overall it was a delightful and beautiful place.

Such lovely attention to detail in the rooms. Wild Rest was a true gem of a stop during a long weekend spent hiking and exploring the area. The rocking chairs on the patio were great for evenings spent outside.

We arrived at night, and the parking area and entrance to the room was dimly lit. I wouldn’t feel comfortable traveling alone to this destination. While in our room, we ran out of toilet paper. I texted and called the number in the app to get some more. It took an hour and a half for a response. The response came from the owner in California - not someone local at the hotel. We never received any toilet paper from the staff. After reaching back out to the owner, he said his staff was asleep. It was 8:45 am at this point. He did call me to say it was a learning experience but then continued to go on telling me using a roll of toilet paper during a night with two people was ridiculous. I explained that the hotel didn’t supply tissues and so we had used toilet paper for that. He gave a half-hearted and dismissive apology and made no offer to rectify. While the room was nice, the lack of response to a simple need is unacceptable.
