“Location, location, location! We were so surprised to find this extraordinary property available at the last minute! Everything about the cottage was charming and we both enjoyed ourselves immensely. The tranquil setting, tiny beach and wildlife just added to the experience. My husband took lots of lovely pictures while I enjoyed a book under the trees. We had amazing meals in the village of Gloucester Courthouse and antiquing in nearby Mathews. The Owner was prompt in answering questions and……

“We loved this quiet property, right on the water. The house was clean and perfect for my mom and me. I didn’t use the kitchen but it was stocked with a lot of stuff. Towels for the beach were provided, along with chairs for sitting on the beach. There is a rinse off area in the back of the house, but to turn the water on you have to go in front of the house. I absolutely would return. ”

It was very clean, all the "extras" were of great quality and very well thought-out....extra blankets, fully stocked kitchen with every appliance you could need, ample towels and bath supplies, complete outdoor rec gear; just to name a few. Tom and Mette’s cottage is a slice of Heaven on the Northern Neck - a rustic but very liveable, well equipped and comfortable home that reminded me of vacations at the shore with my grandparents decades ago. Love the yard and the incomparable views of the mouth of the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay. I’m very much looking forward to my next visit!”

“This was a great place for our family to gather. We have been visiting family in the area for almost 20 years and our own family has out grown the guest rooms at the in-laws sending us in search for a bigger place to stay.
