The accommodations were extremely basic and dated, especially considering the price we paid. There were very few amenities. The shampoo and conditioner were provided in small packets, there was only a partial roll of toilet paper when we arrived, no hairdryer, and the towels smelled sour when wet. The refrigerator was malfunctioning and froze everything we put inside. The curtains also wouldn’t completely close.
The walls were very thin—we could clearly hear the TV in the neighboring room, and it was on through the night. The hot water was limited, which was especially disappointing because the room actually had a nice old-school tub. The coffee provided was also pretty terrible.
I don’t expect luxury from a small motel, and I can appreciate simple, no-frills accommodations when they’re clean, comfortable, and priced accordingly. But at roughly $150 per night, we expected considerably more attention to the basics. Overall, the room felt tired and the standards were simply too low for the price we paid.
