Welcome to Sakura — a tranquil retreat named for the Japanese cherry blossom, a symbol of fleeting beauty and renewal. Perched at the quiet edge of Wentworth Falls, where the whispering bush meets the heart of the village, this peaceful studio invites you to slow down and breathe deeply.

Sakura offers a gentle pause — a place to rest, reflect, and fall in love with the rhythm of the Blue Mountains.

Sakura is a quiet tribute to the owner’s Japanese heritage — a harmonious blend of East and West. In Japan, this would be called a Yōshitsu — a Western-style room softened by traditional Japanese touches. At its heart is a comfortable queen bed for deep, restful sleep, complemented by a serene tatami mat area that invites you to sit, dine, and unwind in stillness.

The studio features a zashiki — a classic low table on tatami flooring, perfect for enjoying tea or a quiet meal in traditional style. For those who prefer it, a table and chairs offer a more Western approach to dining.

A simple kitchenette provides the essentials: a bar fridge, microwave, toaster, and kettle, along with crockery and cutlery for your stay — everything you need for a light breakfast or a warm cup of tea after a day of adventure.

The bathroom has been beautifully refreshed, with soft concrete terrazzo tiles and a soothing aesthetic. A walk-in shower and a separate bath offer the perfect place to soak and restore, especially on a crisp mountain morning or after a day on the trails.
