“The room was comfortable and the bedding was immaculate, the attention to detail was lacking in that surfaces were dusty, the tea and coffee facility was sparce and empty milk jigger left amongst fresh supply. Bathroom was functional apart from toilet seat which was a bit wobbly. All in all we had a comfortable stay. The hotel is tired and needs some tlc.”

“Everything was first class including superb food. Fabulous place and so very interesting. If I had one minor complaint it would be that the room was a little small and had no fridge”

“The hotel staff are good especially reception and the gym but the spa which I was looking forward to it Wasn’t great You have to pay extra so my husband couldn’t use the facilities even though I had 3 treatments Which were not great the therapists are only just out of training yet they charge full price I must admit I was lucky with my facial which was excellent But the whole spa experience is not worth the money”

“Lovely surroundings which made the stay Room was small and bin had not been emptied also shower was too hot and was hard to regulate temperature. Staff helpful and pleasant especially bar staff”

“The property is in need of a refurb , the front is ok but our room had shredded curtains , the toilet took ages to refill so it could not be used quickly , as we had a family room it was not very useful we told the front desk who said she would check and never came back t us so we asked after dinner and was told it was fine however the problem was still there . We had dinner at the salt restaurant and the lamb still had the string in it which was not good and had to send of back , they did……

“Unfortunately we discovered evidence of moth larvae under the bedside cabinets and curtains showing as threadbare carpet. Google AI confirmed larvae infestation. We saw a moth in the room which lead us to investigating. The Housekeeper assured us it was historical as are the cobwebs in the same area. We have discussed this with the Manager and he has given us a partial refund. We were offered a room change but the timing didn't work for us and the hotel was full. Our decision not to move is……

“Absolutely amazing stay at the Rookery Hotel. Staff all went above and beyond. Truly exceptional Hotel set in the most amazing grounds. It was my partners birthday and they really went out of there way to make him feel special. The restaurant was beautiful and the food created by some very talented chefs was delicious. We will definitely return x”
