  • The "Houston" House is a newly restored historic home located in the heart of downtown Whitefish and minutes from Big Mountain Ski Resort. The restoration project has been featured in the Daily Interlake and Whitefish Pilot. The home is located on Central Avenue and steps away from the restaurants and shops in downtown Whitefish and a mere block from Baker Park and the Whitefish River Trail System. Free Snow Bus shuttles to Big Mountain ski resort. The home was named after Dr. Houston who was the first town doctor and he lived in the house with his family in 1905. The town hospital was immediately behind the house.

    The Houston House shares the same property with the Carriage House (which is rented separately). The Carriage House is located on the back of the property and has its own small patio. The access to the Carriage House is through the same back fence gate shared by the Houston House.

An amazing property! Easily one of the nicest and best located houses available to rent in Whitefish. If you sit on the porch, be ready for compliments as people walk past. This home is stunning, inside and out. The owners are very responsive and wonderful to work with. If we return to Whitefish, this will most certainly stay here again!

This home had everything you could every need! The owner was quick to respond and cared how our stay was. We rented this home for 2 weeks. Location couldn't be better! Look no further

We had the most wonderful stay at the Houston House. The house is beautiful and the location cannot be beat. The house is literally steps away from Downtown Whitefish where all of the shops and restaurants are located. We were traveling with young children so the fenced in yard could not have been more perfect. When the kids got tired of playing in the beautiful yard, we only had to go a block to find a great park and the Whitefish River where the kids could feed the ducks, throw rocks in the water and splash around. The owners were very quick to respond to any emails and a pleasure to deal with. We definitely plan to return.

Houston House in Whitefish is a very special home dating to the founding of the town and has been updated to modern standards with loving care by its owners. The home has maintained its charm and character while offering all the modern conveniences. It has 1st class accessories, appliances and functionality and was well stocked as a home away from home. The in town location is awesome providing easy walking access to all the town has to offer. It is also convenient to the broader area via auto including Glacier National Park, fly fishing the Flathead river, FCA airport and surrounding towns. Our hosts couldn’t have been more engaged immediately responding to questions and offering guidance on local activities. We highly recommend Houston House and hope to enjoy it again on future visits.
