The Neighborhood:
Pietermaai is a historic neighbourhood which dates back to the year 1674 when a Dutch captain, Pieter de Mey, built his mansion on these grounds. After a period of downfall, the whole neighbourhood is now restored as well as the 'Latin Quarter' of Willemstad.
Nowadays, small shops, bars, restaurants & hotels have found their home in Pietermaai District. Together they create a lively, cosy and safe part of Curaçao. Not all neglected monuments are restored yet, but that is what gives Pietermaai that exceptional vivid and raw edge. In short, the right location for people looking for something really different.
Getting Around:
Within walking distance, you find several shops, a small market, a barbershop, diving school, bars, a small beach, restaurants and the city centre of Willemstad. If you want to explore more of the island, we can help you with renting a car.
