“I finally made it to my room a bit late. I had some quick issues with the temp and television settings. I sent a text to Jim (the owner), and he helped me get comfortable for the night. I loved the personal touch you do not see as good as in large hotel chains. Personalized touch with better shampoo, had wet wipes to use, little things like Listerine to use. I met Jim in the morning and thanked him for all the great hospitality. Very nice and genuine man.”

“We have stayed in hotels/B&Bs all over the Hill Country. We stayed in the good, the bad and the ugly. This one is in a gray area between the good and the bad. This is an older propery. Fairly well kept. The furniture is cheap and unattractive. The mattress was ok, just very loud when my husband would turn over. There were bugs...mind you mostly dead, but still bugs. Not a huge deal b/c it's in the middle of a tiny forest. We did enjoy our stay but I have suggestions: 1) Check all lights before……

“The location the area the quietness”

“Me and my family went to this property to view the total eclipse and enjoy some time away from home for a weekend. While we did catch a lot of clouds for the event the rest of the stay was quite enjoyable. We had no issues staying cool with the great airflow of the property, keeping the mosquitos out of the barn, or making simple meals. We enjoyed the fireflies and my toddler had a lot of fun following the local cat and playing at Old Baldy and the Blue Hole Playground (both only a short drive……

“Easy”

“Nice place in good shape. Beds squeaked pretty badly with every move. Shower head force was like needles, and actually almost painful to stand under.”

“We really enjoyed our stay at Shadowland. Beautiful property that is well taken care of. The vintage 1956 airstream is super cool, even thought its been updated its a glimpse back in time, to a time when things were built with quality and built to last. The hot tub was awesome, very peaceful property, easy to relax. Lots of stuff to do in the area. Would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.”

“This was a perfect location gated nice and quite but close to town and market days. Check in was so easy room was clean and the area was really nice.”

“We stayed in Megs Boarding House for my birthday weekend. Didnt help that it rained and a cold front came thru. But didnt stop us from utilizing the pool. I dont think id stay in megs boarding house again though and would definitely upgrade to a newer cabin. But glad i got to experience staying in there. Was very adorable, but walls are super thin and we were upstairs and man those stairs are steep ...and i get it...its old fashioned megs boarding house lol. But there was even dirt marked on the……

“This house looks just like its pictures. It’s the second year we stayed here for our annual reunion with our college friends. We have our reunion at a different house in the neighborhood so we mostly just sleep at the house. Our only complaint is that both of the king mattresses are rather lumpy. Overall this house is great for families :)”
