Great for large groups

We loved this property in the heart of Wimberley! The bedrooms are designed for privacy with a great central room with kitchen and living room all together. We would rent this again in a heartbeat!

Great comfy house close to town

The house was very comfortable and could have easily fit more of us. Every room has a bath. The yard had plenty of activities and the outdoor fireplace was great although there was a burn ban when we stayed 😔

Great property to family and friends attending a wedding

We enjoyed the beautiful kitchen/great room space. Plenty of seating for our whole group. The outdoor fireplace was fun too. The outside entrances allowed nice privacy and quiet. Would have been nice to have on site laundry. We had a maintenance issue that was promptly addressed.

Great for Weekend Reunion

We had our 3rd annual reunion weekend at this same property and it gets better each year. It’s a group of 15 college friends and we couldn’t ask for a better venue. Close to downtown Wimberly for shopping, sipping and dining. We will be back next year!

Serene Escape: Wonderful Hill Country Retreat

We had plenty of room for the 9 of us to spread out. The beds were comfortable, and our teens really enjoyed the bunks. We had tons of fun playing ping pong and foosball, hanging out in the BBQ pavilion, and watching the deer crossing. Although the location is within walking distance to the creek/river and downtown, we didn't feel safe walking and sharing the narrow road with the cars. Overall, we really liked this rental. It felt like a hotel stay with a hill country setting. I would not hesitate to rent this property again.

My husband and I stayed here with three other couples and their families. The property was really close to town, which was nice since the river near the property was a bit of a walk and was dried up. We did however enjoy visiting Blue Hole, which you have to pre-purchase passes to, because they sell out, as well as 7A Ranch. Make sure you bring a canopy for 7A as there is no shade. The house was laid out nicely for each family to have a room, with the kids sleeping on the bunks. Loved having the pavilion for making s'mores and hanging out with the whole group outside. The grass was too high when we arrived, but after letting the owners know, they had someone come trim it in a timely manner. With 18 people staying a washer and dryer would have been nice to have access too, and the internet was a little spotty. We also would have loved if the large fan in the main area to worked, but after many tries we gave up. Overall a great stay for a large group.

Great stay!

The property is well described and well located. Property managers were timely in their responses and very accommodating. Perfect for a family to get together and still have their privacy. Would definitely return! Some helpful tips: bring extra towels as there is no access to a washer/dryer, if you are in to cooking consider bringing extra supplies (knives could use sharpening, limited pans, no tea kettle, etc). Beds are very comfortable and water gets very hot. Two ovens in the main kitchen which really came in handy. Great TV setup for watching the games! Altogether a great time!

Nice Place, but ...

The great room and kitchen were outstanding, and so were the grounds and the outdoor pavilion. The several bunk beds do not really accommodate adults. The refrigerator water and ice dispensers did not work. The was an uncovered HVAC ceiling vent in the great room. The overall cleanliness of the property was good, with one big exception. The bed linens in the three outer suites had not been changed. We found hair, an ear bud, and a candy wrapper in the "made up" beds (some of our party chose to sleep on couches the first night). Further, it was somewhat difficult to get new linen; it took considerable haggling before we were taken care of.

Few issues.. lots of flies in the house and dead flies and cobwebs in most windows. No outiets worked in master bedroom. Otherwise, the house was fine.

Big nice house

We had a great time both in the house and the river. The house distribution was perfect for us. It was super clean and the manager was always available. We thought it has direct and private acces to the river, but it didn’t. We needed to croos a small street to get to the river.Overall we had a great time and should come back soon.

Fantastic getaway

My daughter and I stayed for a little getaway and had a great time. I will definitely come back. This place is perfect for joint family getaways, family reunions, etc.

Wonderful River House
