Great location in York, close to the beach and the main town. Affordable price for a solid, normal room. Comfortable stay for a long weekend. Not the newest property but clean and nice. I would definitely stay again when coming back to York.

Just some facts: Room rented stated queen bed. It was a standard/double, no larger. Painting above the bed was constantly "clicking " against the wall when the fan was running. We were on the 3rd floor and had to walk up skinny porches to our room. Several doors and windows, on our walk up, were painted black, I assume for privacy. It was very cheap looking. Parking was atrocious. Space was on gravel, behind the building, between old broken lattice boards, old cement pieces, rocks and bushes. Easy walk to the beach was a plus. Room and bathroom were clean. While we did not use them, the pool and hot tub were nice and well maintained. Overall, we would not rent here again. The negatives outweigh the positives.

The lighthouse Inn is very convenient to Long Sands, only 10 minute walk to the beach. Has a pool and hot tub on site. The room we had reserved was in the carriage house and was a good size with a full bathroom. The door to the deck was a nice addition with seating. I didn’t realize the room was on the 3rd floor and only accessed by outside stairs which was a challenge with our suitcases as one set was quite narrow. Coming down the stairs from the 3rd floor there is a sharp turn and a big step down that is not marked. My husband accidentally lost his footing on the big step and fell a couple of steps. Luckily he was able to save himself. But that needs to have some markings g on the stair for people to be aware. As we entered the unit the floor felt very soft like there was a problem with the flooring, a little disconcerting as we also saw several carpenter ants in the unit. The furniture looked new but not sure about the mattress which was very uncomfortable. We both woke up with backaches and feeling very stiff. As we were only there for 2 nights we didn’t say anything.

Office was closed at 4:30 on a Sunday. They left a key in an envelope for “late check in’s” At 4:30pm??? Let myself in to the deserted office and spotted a 20something on her phone in the lobby. She showed me the envelope that contained a 2nd floor room. I asked her if we could switch to a downstairs room near the parking space since the place was clearly without any guests. She said she didn’t have the ability to do this and would need to contact the owner. 20 minutes later she appeared and said she could reach the owner but could give me her number so I could try in maybe an hour. Frustrated I gave up and took the 2nd floor room. Photos attached to describe what we found Dirty Ice Bucket w spent coffee filter and trash inside Bloody sheets No blanket. 16” TV circa 2005??? I never give one star reviews but this place deserves one. Don’t come here.
