About Casa Mestiza

Hi-Desert modern classic in the heart of old town Yucca Valley. This cozy heaven will provide everything you are looking for while visiting the Californian Desert.

Just 15 minutes from Joshua Tree National Park and 10 minutes from Pappy & Harriets, this newly renovated home gives you all the luxury comforts of home while enjoying the unique and magical desert. This spacious home is a perfect place to create memories with your family and friends that will last a lifetime.

The property was nice, the ad stated a washer and dryer but it was not available. For older adults, 60, the furniture is lower to the ground. The beds are memory foam and were comfortable, pillows could be a bit better. Great value for the money

Casa Mestiza had everything we needed — a well-equipped kitchen, two comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. We didn't use the cornhole, horsheshoes etc. out back, nor the patio table. But they looked nice. Communication with the host was easy and quick. She was very friendly. If I plan to return to the Yucca Valley one day, I'll book this home again as it's a known quantity and I was happy with it. Thank you.

Overall a very good rental; a few improvements would make it fantastic

This is a small but cute house. The kitchen was stocked with the items we needed and the house’s overall decorating was nice. While a nice house, a few improvements would make it fantastic. 1) the kitchen chairs are inexpensive and did not seem sturdy for supporting adults. More sturdy chairs would be great. 2) Consider changing the master bed to a king size (currently it’s a queen) and adding a box spring underneath. It’s currently lower to the ground and for older adults or those with spine problems, a higher up bed is more accessible. The room is big enough for a king size and that size is also preferable. There also isn’t a dresser and one added would be terrific. 3) the smaller bedroom’s mattress is only 4 inches and not very plush, so only kids would likely be comfortable. If you moved the current master bedroom mattress and bed frame into the 2nd bathroom, that would solve its issues as that other mattress is 6 inches. 4) there isn’t a door on the nicely redone shower so the water sprays out on to the bathroom floor. It’s was a mess. Perhaps change the showerhead to a rain shower style so the water sprays down instead. And 5) consider adding a larger recliner in the living room. All of the furniture is low to the floor with no spinal support. For older adults and for people with spine issues, it was hard to get off and was painful on the back. Despite the few possible suggested improvements, the house is charming and updated. Thank you for letting us stay there.

Great house, great location

The house was great - v clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated, with everything you could need. Very easy to get in and out. Easy to find and close to local shops and restaurants. Perfect jumping off spot for Joshua Tree National Park.
