「I first booked through Expedia and got an excellent deal. I wanted to extend my stay, I did but was more expensive. I liked the location of the hotel and the room I got, so I paid the extra. The problem when making reservations, you do not know what room you will get. The rooms on ground level might have great access to beach and pool, but most rooms are not private al all. 「We spent seven full nights at Portofino and it was truly serene. Three things stood out: 1) The staff. Our servers E and A were truly amazing. Sometimes there was a language barrier, but it was more entertaining than a negative. As a US resident visiting a foreign country I don't expect our hosts to automatically speak english and it was actually more authentic to wade through some back and forth.
