East Midlands Kid friendly Holidays

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Xenia as a solo traveler. The staff was incredible, especially Mattesh at the front desk. The hotel is conveniently located near many attractions and has lovely amenities. The breakfast buffet was delish as well. I highly recommend staying here.

The staff at The Rubens were wonderful, especially the doormen! We had the pleasure of meeting two lovely gentlemen during our stay, but Robert truly stood out. He was incredibly friendly, warm, and kind to everyone who walked through the doors. His welcoming personality made every entrance and exit feel special. He truly is a gem and such an asset to the hotel!

Stayed for one night after a visit to London to see Derren Brown for my husbands birthday. Had a lovely stay, clean well equipped room with well stopped fridge and nice toiletries. Pleasant staff and great location.

So we saw 5 star hotel near tower hill and, while cheaper than other 5 stars in central, it was quite a bit more than other good four stars I know and have enjoyed nearby. So it was then very disappointing to discover the property is nowhere close to 5 star. Other than the first receptionist (who was rude and untrained), the reception 1 staffed and concierge were attentive enough. However all items were substandard and mamy broke on first use, e.g. tvs, hair dryers, water bottles (labelled as sparkling but grubby glass clearly just refilled with tap water). Gaslit by two members of staff on TV issue first night, not fixed til 4th night (even then, only a stopgap)
