The hotel is dated, Japan 1970/Deco, and the rooms/bathrooms are small. Reception staff's ability in English is limited. The location may be central but not appealing. We overnighted for the Naoshima ferry. A better choice for this purpose is JR Clement which is across the street from the ferry and the station.

The hotel was clean and efficient, but lacked amenities and personality. For example, there were no places nearby to eat dinner. There was a large supermarket nearby though, so we were able to buy food and eat in our small room that had a view of the parking garage. Fine for one night though: clean, safe, quiet. It would have been better if Expedia had offered a choice of room types, such as higher floor, room with a view, or “superior double.”
