Altos de Chavon Village Pet-friendly Holidays

The rooms, amenities, restaurants and food were awesome. The only hiccup was at the fesca bar was tough to get service at times. Never when Julian was working. He was amazing where ever he was scheduled and it seemed like he was everywhere. Lol Always walking around with a smile on his face checking on everyone to see they had everything they needed. Special shout out to our VIP concierge Josè Miguel Jimenez. I have never had a concierge before and now I don't if I could vacation without one. Josè made our entire stay amazing and hassle free. Not once did I ever have to go looking for him. He checked in with me both in person and via text throughout the day to see if there was anything we needed. He made sure what activities and events were happening each day. He made our stay so relaxing. The next concierge we have on vacation will have very big shoes to fill.

The staff was the best part they were super kind and helped us feel welcome. We traveled with a baby and she loved playing with the staff. They did confuse us about the upgrade to club status so make sure if they offer that you are clear on what it includes if you think it's worth it. We loved gusto which was the club status restaurant. It was like 340$ to upgrade our stay to club. They had a club specific pool that we loved but there was never any servers at that pool bar and they also didn't ever verify those members were club status which was kinda annoying we paid extra but it was never verified at the pool. The property was very clean. The room was clean per resort standards I'd say. I'm really particular about cleanliness so I do think the showers and bath tub could have been more clean. Also we had to ask for baby amenities and all of it didn't seem clean. I would recommend to bring a small bottle of distilled vinegar so you can descale the sterilizer machine that they provide. All of the stuff didn't seem clean which was stressful so I didn't use the bathtub and I also brought som cholorx wipes to wipe the high chair. BUTTTT it's amazing they even offer those things so just bring some cleaning supplies so you can feel good about using them. They always checked on us a million times so I loved that. Overall, it was a great stay. We drank only bottled water and washed my my babies stuff in bottle too but we still got stomach issues when we came back from the trip.

Beautiful Property, Not a True Luxury Experience At $1,500+ per night, the expectation is a seamless luxury experience. Casa de Campo is visually beautiful, but service and value did not match the price. Check-in required a 25+ minute wait for a “concierge check-in”, while 2 front desk agents remained unoccupied, yet there was no meaningful property overview or proactive assistance. The room was standard at best and consistently humid. We had booked expecting a hot tub, but only select rooms in another section section of the resort have them. Even after a partial adjustment through Expedia, the value was not there. The main pool shows visible wear, and overall upkeep does not reflect a luxury rate. Concierge service lacked initiative. When restaurants were full, we had to prompt alternatives. There was also confusion about what our stay included, despite the high rate, it covered no meals or experiences, only the room and a golf cart. Dining was good overall. Breakfast at Lago stood out thanks to Jael, who delivered the only truly five-star service we experienced. The property and golf course are beautiful, but service precision, clarity, and overall value fall short of true luxury standards.
