Excellen location and a really nice property. Close enough to everything but nice and quiet at night

Staff everywhere were nonchalant and preoccupied. Food at restaurants was terrible. Location was far from most destinatioms so I used Grab taxis everywhere (relatively cheap plus foreign transaction fees on each fare) because of that. Hotel itself was spacious and clean. The warm cookies at the front desk made my day.

Room and customer service was generally fine. But the check in experience was poor. I asked three times in the days before and morning of arriving if early check in would be possible and what the price would be. Each time I was only told to that they would check availability when I arrived and never told what the fee would be. When I arrived, I was offered an early check in but at a ridiculous cost higher than the daily rate. After that, they insisted I had to pay the nightly non-resident tax even after I showed them my Expedia booking confirmation clearly stating that Expedia would pay this tax to the hotel and that I would not need to pay it. The staff had no interest in looking into the issue or taking it up with Expedia, instead insisting there was no option but for me to pay the additional fee myself.
