“We booked a one-night experience for ourselves, our two sons and their respective wives at this highly rated facility as part of our vacation. We arrived early for our check-in, so one of three rooms was available which was fine. The rooms were large but had a musty smell when we entered. The bed was comfortable, but most of the amenities are dated. That said, this was meant to be a “lodge”, so our expectations may have been too high. The hotel facilities, which included a small pool, hot……

“Lovely site with stunning views from all rooms, and an enjoyable Penisula walk throughout the property. Dinner at the Coast Kitchen was also very nice.
Our complaints were that water bottles were not refilled in the rooms, nor were dirty cups & glasses replaced. We ended up going out & buying a jug of water and having to reuse drinkware. There was also no coffee available to make in the room, and it wasn’t readily available in the main lodge outside of the hours of 6AM - 8AM. Our dislikes seem……

“This is one of my favorite places to stay. Lovely, charming, unhurried with beautiful architecture and grounds. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was exactly as I recall it being roughly 12 years ago - spacious, lovingly decorated, attentive details everywhere with luxurious, high quality furnishings. The Madrones is a welcome respite in Anderson Valley and great home base for local wine tasting.
The restaurant was still as cozy and intimate as I remembered, with simple but……
