"This little gem is hiding behind the songtsam temple, though it's a bit hard to find even with the GPS. The small town in front of the hotel is undergoing heavy constructions. We arrived there with no hot water and got a free upgrade a suite. Room is huge but not as cozy as the smaller one. They even set up the fireplace to get the room warmed up for us everyday. Food is excellent but too bad we missed the spa. Overall an excellent hotel where you can relax and find you inner peace, definitely...

"Pros; the location of this hotel is ideal due to proximity to various sights and attractions within (walking distance to all points of interests - Qinlong bridge, bars/restaurants, Sifang street, tea/horse routes, etc..) and outside Shuhe old town (closer to Yulong Snow Mountain, Baisha Village & Jade Water Village). "It has been relaxed and cozy for my 4 nights stay with localized culture style. The bedding is comfy and cleanly fresh. I added one more night by paying in local currency. Staff are very helpful and nicely willing to support at all the time. Overall I have been very happy and impressed for my vacation in Lijiang. "

"The Palace Hotel, or Wang Lu Hotel in Chinese, was a welcome sight - traditional Chinese in style. Situated in the Old Town of Lijiang, it’s surrounded by quaint shops and a variety of dining establishments for ease and convenience. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. "The hotel didn’t know about our reservation through hotels.com so when we arrived someone was already in the room we had rented and already paid for!! But the hotel gave us two rooms to make up for the mistake. They felt very bad and apologized profusely. The rooms were very sweet. Floors need some fixing and breakfast is not cooked to order but overall it’s a nice place to stay! "
