We apologise for the street noise at night, as Hindley Street is a centre of night life especially on weekends. We do provide rooms away from the street frontage and these are much quieter.

This property is next door to a nightclub that closes at 4:00am so noisey we didn’t get any sleep, we might as well of going to the nightclub!

I stayed in Room 104. Overlooks Hindley St. Room (actually it had a "lounge plus a bedroom) was clean and bed comfortable. Bathroom was dated but clean and functional. The only real downside was the street noise (people shouting, yelling, laughing etc) but that of course is not the motel's fault. Double-glazed windows might be a solution, though.

Budget stay, Effusive welcome, Great Location
I received an effusive welcome at check-in. It was easy, efficient and most friendly. Location was superb. All facilities required were available but you must bear in mind that it’s an older establishment and a budget stay. It was clean, warm and spacious.

Budget hotel in the centre of Adelaide
This is a budget hotel in the City Centre. It is an old building but my room was clean and comfortable. The staff were kind and very helpful. You get what you pay for and this hotel in my opinion is excellent value for money.

This hotel has very friendly staffs. The room was clean and spacious. There was everything in the room like a sofa, table fridge and a desk. Great location. It may look old but very good at this price range. Great value for money.

Toilet paper on the floor in the bathroom, poo stuck in the toilet bowl. Bed looked untidy and was only half made. There wasn’t even a kettle in the room but there was tea and coffee. Room clearly had not been cleaned! Website was very vague but in case you are wondering..they do not offer any parking at all and the closest parking costs $31 a day. Room is like a shoebox and wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here! The fact that there was poo stuck on the inside of the toilet is absolutely disgusting!!! And the manager claims it was clean because her paperwork says so. Needless to say I took photos, got a refund and got the hell out of this place!!!! Do not stay here ever is my recommendation! The next morning I received abusive private messages from hotel staff through Expedia as I gave them a bad review.

All your allegations are completely and utterly false. The room was checked by staff both before (being routine compulsory procedure), and after you checked in, as we do for all booked rooms. No-one has contacted or messaged you privately with any abuse, nor do we want to. Our rooms are large in comparison to modern hotel rooms. There is a kettle in the room, you just failed to see it. Car-parking has nothing to do with our hotel, and cheaper and free parking is available if you care to take the time to look or enquire. You came down after checking in and demanded a free room for two nights, or you would write bad reviews about the hotel everywhere, based on your false allegations. Staff checked the room and found your allegations were false. We did not want you staying in our hotel, given your behaviour, and offered you your money back then and there, or stay for the nights you booked, but no refund. You accepted our offer to leave with refund, and given your behavior we were relieved you did so.

Overall is good, very friendly staff, great location very near with tram, public transport, food restaurant and fast food. Room is very big, like a studio room. The bad thing is hotel very near with bar, so a litte bit noisy when night.

It is what it is....
As expected The Plaza Hotel is more at the cheap and cheerful end of the scale. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was quiet and noneventful. The location was great, only a short walk to Rundell Mall, the train station and tram stops. The central markets, and nearby gyms if you're chasing a workout, are only a few minutes walk away. Heaps of eateries and 24 hour convenience stores nearby. The room itself is tired and worn, the beds could do with an upgrade, but both the room and bathroom appeared to be clean. My room was quiet being in the rear part of the hotel. I spent most my time out and about, using the room as just a base to sleep and shower so it served my needs there, but if you like the luxuries of a modern hotel then this won't be for you. Just be mindful that there is no wifi in the hotel so if you need to use a laptop like I did you might have to use your phone as a mobile hotspot. All in all, it is what is, it's not pretentious. As a solo traveller it was fine, but I'd go elsewhere if you're looking for family accommodation.

Sorry you were disappointed. The pricing of our hotel and what you paid, is a reflection that it is a friendly budget hotel, not a 5 star hotel service. We have full-time housekeeping to the highest standard; professional linen supply company supply all our linen. We do not hide the fact that the hotel rooms need upgrading, and that is happening this year. Our staff are professional and courteous.

The Plaza is an old property awaiting a major refit. However, the rooms are very large and comfortable with good comfortable furniture too. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Location is excellent, surrounded by many pubs, eateries, and shops. It is only a couple of blocks from the Rail station too. This will be my hotel choice when visiting Adelaide going forward.

Spacious room in a central location
I had read reviews on this place after i booked and was a little scared that it was going to be absolutely terrible; thankfully, it was not. It's obviously not 5 stars but you get what you paid for. For the cheap price of the room, we got a central location to pubs/clubs, transport, shopping facilities, restaurants and fast food. Everything we needed was within walking distance (including many tourist activities). Many reviews said that the music of the nightclubs would keep you up at night but that wasn't the case for us as we slept amazingly on the comfy beds. The aircon was fantastic, and the room was quite spacious and i'd definitely recommend this place for a few nights stay as it was central to everything.

RUN RUN RUN, IT SHOULD BE LAST CHOICE I believe there is no cleaning in this hotel, we stayed 3 nights the room was never serviced. And the best part, we found a cockroach dead next to the bed, we went down to tell to receptionist, and believe what the cockroach was never removed from the room FOR 3 days they did not care at all..

Sorry that you found a dead cockroach. We are happy to show you our weekly commercial linen invoices/bills and cleaner's bills. We have housekeepers/cleaners on premises everyday and they do a thorough job. It is unfortunate that some people, for whatever reason, like to create drama that is not there.

Thank you for your review. An electrician came and saw to the light fitting straight away after your complaint, and have no idea how someone had pulled that fitting slightly out. The rooms are tired, and will be renovated, but, we keep them thoroughly and properly cleaned. There was one cup (out of 4 provided in the room) that unfortunately had a small chip in the porcelain, and we replaced it straight away after your complaint. The very low price you paid for the room reflected the fact that the rooms need some renovating.
